Let’s Have A Good Friday

Good morning, my friends! We made it to Friday. It was one of those weeks that didn’t feel like it was going to come for me. I’m a little scatter-brained and ready to take things easy this weekend, that’s for sure! To go along with my scatter-brained feeling this morning, I’m going to go with a bit of a hodge podge post. Fun Fact Friday. Weekend Countdown. Workout recaps. All in one! I’m feeling it today. Happy Friday!

5 Things Making Me Smile This Week

  • I finished reading The Hunger Games last night. I. Loved. It! Sure, it’s one of those more juvenile stories but I couldn’t put it down and hate that I’m like number 2 billion on the waiting list for the next one. Sigh.
  • I have a Testimonials page up and running. The words of appreciation and support I received yesterday from just a few of my wonderful clients once again proved I had nothing to doubt or fear in making this switch.
  • Peter. He is my rock and has been invaluable to me this week.
  • Oatmeal. It never gets old and I look forward to it every morning.

  • The chiropractor. I needed an adjustment for my hips like whoa!

3 Workouts of the Week

  • Monday – full body medicine ball workout (AM) + 50 minute spin class (PM)
  • Tuesday – 7 mile run: I just had fun with this run and kept it pressure-free. Every 3rd song I would pick up the pace, then drop back down for the others. A great way to mix things up!
  • Wednesday – 4 recovery miles on the treadmill (AM) + 30 min full body weights premix of a Cathe DVD (PM)

I’m only at 3 workouts this week since I took an unplanned rest day on Thursday and have today as a scheduled rest day. Tomorrow I have my first 15 miler! Eeeep!

This week has been a nice break from a few things and now I’m looking forward to the 3 day weekend! Love when that happens. Have a great day hun!

I love the quote about satisfaction/determination..definitely one I want to hang up in my room :-) ! My favorite workout was yesterday’s HIIT run- it was one of those which I hated every minute during but loved the post-burn!

I’ve been loving oatmeal, too. And I agree with you, it never gets old! There are so many ways you can enjoy oatmeal.. love it! :)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who goes to bed dreaming about my oatmeal – i seriously look forward to it so much in the morning! (lame right here) I’m glad you listened to your body and gave yourself a rest day yesterday – you need it for tomorrow!!

My week was surprisingly productive and, thus, very enjoyable! I hope you don’t have to wait too long to get the next Hunger Games book from the library; I feel like I’ve heard so much about those books recently, I’m definitely going to have to check them out soon (yet another thing to put on my reading list, sigh). Also, totally with you on looking forward to oatmeal everyday. I wasn’t a breakfast person, until I started eating oatmeal; now I’m always a bit sad when my breakfast is over… :)

I love “wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction”! So very true.

Good luck on your 15-miler! You got this – just a mile longer than last week…no big deal (I’m a big believer when it comes to long runs in “faking it until you feel it”…if you act like it’s no big deal you will BELIEVE that it’s no big deal)!

I LOVE that second quote! I kind of want to print it and tape it to my ceiling…

My valentine’s day workout put a HUGE smile on my face! I went in the evening and most of the gym was filled with (I assume) fellow single folks but there was one couple and they were adorable! They were lifting weights in sync with each other and would walk from piece of equipment to piece of equipment arm in arm. Every time I saw them I couldn’t help but smile :)

I am definitely a Hunger Games fan and can’t wait for the movie to come out! I’m about to head out on my first 12 miler outdoors! I’ve been doing them all on the treadmill since it’s been so cold, but today I can do it outside! I’m nervous though – wind, no water fountains, no bathroom, ahhhh! Haha I just need to get out there and do it!

I’ve never read the Hunger Games but I have a friend who really likes them, she’s into teen lit because she’s going to school for library science. It’s good that there are still books out there people can get into even with technology.

Even though you only got three workouts in, it sounds like they were good workouts! Good luck with your 15 miler tomorrow… eek!

1. Totally understand about your hubby being “your rock”. Aren’t husbands the best? I seriously don’t know what I’d do without mine.
2. I tried a variation of your medicine ball workout (I forgot to bring the printed directions to the gym with me!) and I LOVED it!!!!!!!

Slightly obsessed with Hunger Games – I read them all in like 15 minutes and can’t wait for the movie!!!

My fav workout this week was the Runner’s World Iron Strength workout. It was my first time doing it and it kicked my BOOTIE. I’m still sore but in a sexy way!!

I have a serious confession Tina…after 9 weeks of training for my half…today I did not run. I didn’t even do a sit up/plank/squat.
I felt horrible after the beach…our friends are in town and I was entertaining…but you know I should have just got up and ran my 5 miles. Tomorrow for sure. It is so hard when I feel like I let myself down…you know?

YAYAYA you finished the Hunger Games. I’m literally obsessed with them, I read the first two books together in less than three days! I’m on MockingJay right now, and let me just say that I’m so excited for the movie to come out! But it looks like you had an amazing week last week, and I hope this one is even better! Keep up the great work.
