Good morning! Is it Friday yet? No? Well, I’m in a Friday mood so I’m proclaiming today Friday. If I do a Fun Fact Friday type post that means it’s Friday, right? No again? Dang. Well, even if this doesn’t make it Friday I am in the mood for something light and easy on the blog front. Let’s do a little survey courtesy of Chelsey and Colleen from like a month ago. Never too late for a good survey to get to know each other better. ![]()
PS – Do you like my haircut? I’m still getting used to it and it’s shorter than I anticipated. But I loved the stylist that Laura recommended to me. She was so nice and did do the cut in the pic I showed her just right. It’s just been awhile since I’ve gone shorter. Okay – back to getting to know me.
1. When a cashier in the checkout line at the grocery store is being a grump for no reason, how do you typically react? Well, I believe everyone has a reason behind any emotions they feel. So, if someone acts a grump, I try to remain as calm and positive as possible. I probably annoy them since I will put on a big smile and ask how he/she is doing and saying that I hope the rest of the day goes smoothly.
2. Are you the type that likes going out with your girlfriends or staying in? I usually like to go out with my “girlfriends”. However, “going out” is a relative term. In my mind it means a dinner or a run or something equally basic. No clubbing or bar hopping for this chick anymore.
3. Do you sob and get emotional watching romance movies? I don’t really get emotional during romantic movies…but put me in front of a movie or TV show that has a husband/wife/family scenario with someone ill/dying and I will bawl like a baby. My mind automatically goes to “What would I do if that ever happened to my family????” and the tears commence.
4. What stresses you out the most? Oh, goodness. I guess feeling like things are spiraling out of control. Like when a TON of stuff suddenly comes up that needs to be done and I have no clue where to start to even begin to accomplish anything.
5. What do you think people think of you? Hmmmm? I really don’t know. I hope that they think I’m compassionate and a good person. But I really don’t know. I guess I don’t care?
6. When you overindulge do you hit the gym to burn it all off, or just accept the indulgence and follow your same routine? Pfffft!!! I accept the indulgence and move on with my normal routine. Although, sometimes it does mess with my head still.
7. Are you easily annoyed? I used to be a high school teacher and now have two toddlers. I have a very high tolerance for “annoyed”. I can tune out almost anything.
8. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw? Wanting control. I don’t even want to be around me when I feel like things aren’t going “right”.
9. What is one thing you don’t think people see enough of when it comes to your personality? My sarcasm. I think people view me as super serious and I’m really not all that serious.
10. Can you feel relaxed in a busy crowd or messy room? Busy crowd? Yes. I love the energy of people. Messy room? That’s pushing it. Clutter is not my friend.
Your Turn – Going out or staying in? How would you react to a cranky cashier? Personality in 3 words?

girl i am with you on the control.
oh and I LOVE THAT HAIR!! SUPER SUPER CUTE!
I think your hair cut looks great! Loved your answer about the cashier!
LOVE the new cut!! It makes your eyes pop because the emphasis is on your face now with your hair shorter. I dig it!! Of course I’d say that now that I’m such a huge fan of short hair now (who knew?!).
Love the haircut! Looks really good!
I like staying in. I would rather have friends over than go out any day. I agree with you on the grumpy cashier. You never know what the day has brought someone else, so I just speak nicely to them and move on. Personality…energetic, loving, giving (these are things I try my hardest to live up to so I hope they come through to others).
I think those 3 definitely fit you!
You’re haircut looks great! I haven’t commented in FOREVER but I assure you I am still lurking away and reading every post!
When I was younger, college age, I probably would have said going out. But as I’ve gotten older, staying home has more of an appeal, partially b/c of working all day and being busy. In college I worked as a Walmart cashier, and I think b/c of it, I know how they feel. I try my best to be polite and smile with them, though there are times where I really have to hold my tongue!
I’m not so good in crowded rooms or ones that are messy. I have a need to remove myself from the situation before I start to straighten up =)
going out to dinner with friends? I’ll take it, but I”m with you on the no bar hopping right now. Cranky cashier? I’d probably just say thanks and have a good day. Love the haircut!
Ooooh! What a GREAT survey! You sound like such a patient person. I strive to be like you and get less annoyed by people
Super CUTE haircut by the way!
I have my moments, believe me. And sadly I am usually more patient with the general public, but really have to work on patience with my kids. I hate that.
oooh I have that problem too. I have a lot more patient for friends and strangers than I sometimes do with my parents/brother/husband
It’s awful.
I am so glad you liked Karen! You hair looks fabulous!!!
This reminds me… I need to make an appointment…
Love your new haircut. What a fun post, it’s great getting to know you a little better.
I really like the hair cut! I am so much of a stay in kind of person. usually I just smile my way through a cranky cashier, trying to make them laugh. I would say I am sarcastic, caring and hardworking.
Just adding that I love your new ‘do’! Looks very healthy, stylish and sassy:) Compliments your face shape well!
Thanks!!
Love the hair cut, super cute! I have definitely graduated to staying in, but I like having people over to still feel social
Love the haircut!
I’d say my flaw is the same as yours, I always want (think I need) control!
Every once in a blue moon I just want to go out and dance with my girlfriends. But 90% of the time I’d prefer a night in (with my girlfriends, fiance or even just myself) to watch movies, cook dinner or just talk.
3 words: Optimistic, loving, of great integrity
Love your hair Tina! The cut and color are both very flattering!
That’s actually my natural color still. I guess since the lighter ends were cut off it made it look different. She wanted to do some darker lowlights and I may go for it next time!
Love that hair! Very, very cute!
3 words: sarcastic, loud, caring (heavy on the sarcastic factor hahaha)
cute hair!!!
Sarcasm! I love it! I can’t wait to meet you to hear it in person
heehee! I LOVE the new cut!! looks awesome on you!!! I can get grumpy easily…when I am hungry!!! I think that’s normal though
LOVE the hair! I keep threatening to cut mine short again. I’m making the call today.
Love the hair! And you’re right, I would have never guessed you have a sarcastic side.
LOVE your hair!! I’m good with crowds (love to watch people), but I tend to have “ocd” when it comes to oraganizing and a clean house!!
Can you tell my boss that today’s Friday too? I’m not sure she got the memo.
Dang. It must have gone to her spam folder. I tried to let all the bosses of my friends know.
the hair is SO cute! i keep dreaming of going short again but it took me so long to grow it out the the length it is now. i think i’ll wait and do a big chop for locks of love or something
I love reading these, especially the more personal question ones like this. You are a brave woman for teaching high school! I do not have that kind of patience!
Love the hair. LOVE to smile and be overly nice to grumpy cashiers.
I love this survey! I have to do it now. I also like your new haircut- it frames your face really well and looks cute on you. Plus, it will be cool for summer.
I like going out, but I don’t really go out with girlfriends. I usually go running with friends (coed group), sometimes I go to lunch with my coworkers but that’s usually a coed group too. And, as far as grumpy cashiers go, I just deal with it and move on and hope they have a better day. We all have crazy days at work, so I kinda understand.
LOVE the hair!!!
I’m definitely a stay in kind of girl in the evening time. I usually prefer to cook dinner with a friend than go out to dinner with a friend or to rent a movie rather than go out to the movies. However, during the day I prefer to get outside!
I am such a control freak too – I need to be in control of every situation! something I’m working on…
I LOVE your haircut! super cute and classic!
I’m much more of a “stay in” kind of a person. My favorite date night is a homemade dinner, a walk, and a movie with a glass of wine in hand. I like to go out occasionally, but it’s usually not my top choice : )
Your hair is smoking–it suits you! Would love to meet you someday–sounds like you are really down to earth and bring a TON of positivity to any situation!
Love the hair! I prefer to stay in. Late nights are a thing of the past, like long-long ago!
I was a cashier for awhile and I hated the job so much. I tried to be friendly but some days it was hard. So if a cashier is grumpy with me now, I totally get it. I just leave them alone.
As for the sarcasm thing, I am too. I am totally sarcastic and often that isn’t picked up on in emails, or online. It’s hard to translate into written words!
Agreed. There really does need to be a universal sarcastic font. I can’t even remember all the posts I have written sarcastic in nature that people took me seriously.
Truth! And people are quick to assume you’re serious and not possibly joking.
Your new do looks gorgeous Tina!!
LOVE the cut, Tina
Ya look gorgeous.
I’m the same way with movies. What was that movie where the woman’s husband had a brain tumor and passed away? BAWLED. the entire time.
Love the hair! Tres chic!
I love your hair!! You rock that cut so well
I’m sooo sarcastic as well, some people don’t realize that I’m usually always messing around!
Look at you! You always look beautiful. I love long hair but your totally rocking the short do!
I really like your hair! You rock it.
Loving the shorter hair!! And I’m totally a staying in person… I need to try and get out more probably
I really like the new hair cut! When I cut my hair short I am usually a little stressed and filled with regret for a few days, but once I get used to it then I’m happy.
LOVE your hair Tina!! I do go out to bars on occasion, but I generally prefer something more low key and “intimate”. Oh man, is it bad that I don’t know how to describe my personality?! Haha I guess I’d say that I am sarcastic, quiet, and compassionate.
LOVE your haircut!
When a cashier is grumpy, I usually just try and give them their space. I figure they have something going on and that’s why they’re a grump. I’m with you on going out vs. staying in. I love “going out” with my friends, but sometimes that means staying at someone’s house watching Say Yes to the Dress and eating cookies
I love your haircut! It looks so cute on you.
Cute hair!
Sometimes I get in a mood to go out, but usually I end up getting tired and wishing I had stayed in!
Just had to comment on your hair– I LOVE it!! Really looks great on you!
Your hair cut is really cool. Your face looks more brighter and I can see true beauty glowing inside you.
I get told the same thing about my personality! I can come off very serious and stand-offish but am so sarcastic and goofy with my friends. I like to be in control of things also so your statements are something I always struggle with (constantly telling my self to take a chill pill)! Love your posts… keep up the good work!
When someone is in a bad mood, I understand that everyone gets stressed out sometimes and try to ignore it or just give them a smile. But it’s when someone working in customer service is blatantly rude that makes me mad… there are plenty of people out there who would do your job with a smile on their face, even if they were having a bad day! Love going out with my girlfriends! Sometimes I suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out) when I’m just sitting on the couch. My personality in 3 words? Hmm… friendly, positive, empathetic (I think that last one is an especially important quality that everyone should posses).
I’m a little behind, but just wanted to say that your hair looks ADORABLE!!!
Also, so glad to hear that you had a good, lower-stress week – here’s to another one! *raises glass of grape-flavored vitamin water*
