Well, not technically the weekend, but hitting up yoga felt like the weekend! Nothing better than setting a relaxing tone for a few days off work…and to get your muscles stretched out before your longest run ever.
Friday afternoon, we braved the ominous gray skies and went to a local park for some quality family time. I love my special boys!
And my sandy girl. Dirty park sand made me even more excited for our annual family beach trip in just over a month! May and June are going to be filled with lots of fun travel.
I survived! And not only did I survive, but I thrived! The run felt completely awesome. I averaged 9:46 pace and kept it pretty steady throughout. I actually ended the 20 miles feeling like I could have gone more and had zero pain. Typically I have still dealt with some tenderness through the top of my foot and ankle following my longer runs, but that didn’t even show up. I’m thanking God hugely right now and getting super antsy for the marathon. Let the taper commence!!!!
I even had extra energy for some shopping later that afternoon. So many of my clothes from last summer, as I was still losing baby weight, are too big for me now. I desperately needed some shorts and also wanted to look into cute summery dresses too. The first round of shops I went into were a complete fail…then I drove to the big LOFT outlet. Yea…I found stuff. Lots of stuff. That store is seriously dangerous for me.
Pizza. Because…well, because. A weekend calls for pizza. Especially a weekend with 20 miles.
My current lunch craving, because we can’t eat pizza all the time. Darn.
To round out the weekend, a Sunday morning spent at church and a Sunday afternoon spent on the couch reading a purely for fun book. No pictures needed, but just what I needed.
Here’s hoping this week flies by since this coming weekend will be full of good times – it’s BLEND Retreat time!!!
Your Turn – What did you do this weekend? Are you going to BLEND?
