***Catch Part 1 of the Blend Retreat recap!***
I can’t help myself. More Blend action. It was just too dang fun and I want to remember every little bit. If you’re only interested in the final thoughts – scroll to the last paragraph or two. If you’re only interested in photo scanning – you may get a good chuckle. If you’re reading despite other countless recaps – I love you forever and always. Let’s do this.
After our very active Saturday morning and lounging in our dirt and sweat most of the afternoon, we finally decided to get cleaned up for a night on the town.

First stop? Avery Brewing! I heard the word “brewery” and had no doubt that I would make it there.

Quite a few of us felt the same way.
We had a good-sized group and I think we all had our share of the good stuff. Most of us went with the $1 tasters. I tried out a variety – I don’t remember what all they are and don’t care to go into detail. I just know they were dang good.
I heart good quality beer.
I also had a Turkey Bacon sandwich that had avocado and coleslaw along with the standard lettuce and tomato on it. The menu only had your typical bar food, so none of us had too high expectations. Boy were we wrong! My goodness it was delicious.
I pretty much cleaned my plate. We all did. And some sweet potato tots we got to share. Yum!
Finishing dinner up, we determined that Cinco de Mayo called for margaritas and so headed out to a bar/restaurant called Rio to meet up with a large group of fellow “blends”.

The following may or may not have happened…

I plead the fifth. Or not. When on vacation, I’m not fretting one shot of tequila. Thank you Christine for that fun!
We had quite the time hanging out in the restaurant taking the smoothest tequila shot ever and sipping on a margarita while cherishing our last night all together. The creepers cherished it too.

The laid back atmosphere and openness of the group totally rocked! We had two large tables and all tried to mix and mingle as much as possible. Until the cravings for frozen yogurt struck.
After sipping our margaritas for about an hour or so, a group of us went on a quest for frozen yogurt. When I say “quest”, I mean it. We walked to about four different locations, which were all either closed (at 9:30 pm!!!) or not up to par (only four funky flavors like cherry limeade? no thanks!). We finally settled on gelato.
Put your mind to it, go for it. You gotta break a sweat. Rockin’ and rollin’…you ain’t seen nothing yet. <<<anyone?
We were determined little gals. Or shall I say…guys?

And that, my friends, is what happens when you have the perfect mix of a drink or two, sugar, and good friends.

Final summation? I have been to a few different blogging events in the past year or so. They all had a purpose and served that purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at them and learned some things while in attendance. However, I left each thinking I appreciated the experience but wouldn’t really have a huge desire to attend that particular event again.
Blend Retreat, though? I cannot WAIT to go back again next year. It was everything one of these events should be – energetic, yet relaxing; inspirational, yet light-hearted; health-oriented, yet party-oriented. All in all, an absolute THRILL and BLESSING to participate.
Thank you Lindsay, Janetha, and Katie for all your hard work. Thank you Chobani for being a main sponsor. And thank you to all the other amazing companies that helped it happen as well – FitMixer, Xagave, The Simply Bar, Bob’s Red Mill, PopChips, Core Power, ProBar, Love Grown Foods, Larabar, Nuts About Granola, Green Mountain Coffee, and more. Needless to say – I can’t wait to not only get my hands on all the swag…but go back again next year. Best. Blogger event. EVER.
Your Turn – Did you do anything for Cinco de Mayo? What would/do you look for in a blogging event?
*many photos from the Blend Retreat Facebook group pages – so from Janetha

Great recap! I have never been to a blogging event, but am dying to attend this one! Thanks for sharing the details and the laughs..I know you guys had a great time! Here’s to hoping I can be there next year!
Ahhh I’m so jealous of blend! I really wish I could have gone but I had finals on Friday and Saturday! It looks like a blast though, I’m so glad you had an amazing time!
Haha, that photo bomb!
I am going next year. I have already decided! Also, Jo has requested a Pinkberry trip tonight. I’ve never even been to Pinkberry but there’s one near where we’re eating. Their is also a Yoforia.
*there*
I’ve never been to Pinkberry either! I hear it’s not all its cracked up to be though. Then again…fro yo is fro yo.
HHAHA. why do I look like I’m trying to not pee my dress in the last photo? I adore this. All of it. I may steal that photo in return.
you know how much IIII love you!
Lol- We went on a fro-yo hunt after dinner too (we left a little earlier than you). The place I wanted to go was closed, and then another that was open didn’t have any appealing sounding flavors. We ended up getting GREEK fro yo from Ben and Jerry’s- which was SO GOOD.
I’m so glad that everyone loved Avery! It’s my fave brewery in Colorado- and I forgot that they started serving food (we all ate at Mountain Sun beforehand). I will definitely remember that for when I return in July!
PS – YOU wear the ‘stache best!
It looks like you all had so much fun! I’ve never been to a blogging retreat of any sort, but I must say I’m tempted to go to one after seeing these pics!
Oh, and your quote, of course, comes from Saved By the Bell! That was one of my favorite episodes!!
Yay! You caught it!
Oh I am so jealous, that sounds like SO MUCH FUN! Can’t wait to hear all about it tonight! Can’t wait to meet you and Lee!!!
Best post ever. LOL! I’m so sad I missed the ice cream… but so glad I was there for those shots.
We need to re-create this in ATL. I can’t wait another year!
Thanks for sharing! I am SO going next year!
HAhah that’s great, looks like so much fun! I’m definitely going next year!
Tina – I love reading your recaps of this event! I wanted to attend so badly…and while I’ve only been to one other blogging event (where I got to meet you!) I don’t think I’d go back; this one, with the location, the activities (hiking is right up my alley! along with the fun night(s) out and BOOTCAMP!), and focus seems like it would really hit the spot for me. …count me in for next year! The timing was too bad for me not to come this year with my own family holidays but of course that was great too.
Hope to connect in person again! Looked like a wonderful time.
I definitely can’t wait to see you again so we better both be planning for next year.
Oh man, if I didn’t want to go badly enough before, now I REALLY want to go to Blend next year!! I LOVE all the dancing pics and the tequila shot — GO YOU for letting loose and having a blast with some pretty fabulous bloggers! I love it!
so.much.fun. GREAT meeting you!! Finally!
Agreed!
This looks like a blast, all these recaps just make me realize how amazing the blogging community is!
bahahaha i’m dying over the creeper picture!!! to funny…i missed you guys saturday night!
I’m beyond envious about this retreat. It looks like a bunch of a good girlfriends getting together and just having a fabulous time.
Love the mustaches!
Loved this recap – looks like you had such a great time. Love that smile
So much fun! I’m super jealous that I didn’t get to make it.
Love the mustache picture
You will just have to come next year!
Looks SO fun! I love gelato too–so it’s a nice substitution for fro yo. Hah.
Sounds a blast!
What a fun and amazing weekend (and how did you fit everything in two posts? I am too long-winded!). I think you put it perfectly, although the one other conference I attended was great, it was NOTHING like this weekend of awesomeness!!
It’s because I’m not a foodie. I’m like “I had beer. It was good. The end.” You give such amazing descriptions, that’s why it takes you longer.
It was so great to get to meet you this past weekend. It was a freakin’ blast. And I seem to have missed the mustache party…
Looks like too much fun! Tequila shots always make a night better
I also like that creeper picture. Hilarious. Jealous of your mustashes
I’ve only heard amazing things about the BLEND Retreat and I’m so glad I’m hearing there will be one next year because I really really want to go!!
Ohhhh yes!! The mustaches!!! O.M.G that was just too flippin’ hilarious
You are quite welcome, Tina! Blend was such a blast. I can’t wait until next year either!
