5 Links to Love

  • Lindsay’s fabulous post that not only gives you a killer full body workout, but also a dose of good energy and perspective for life.
  • These red, white, and blue frozen yogurt pops from Chobani. The 4th may be over, but these still look stinking good.
  • If you like cute babies, then read Heather’s recap of their first family vacation. I think the hand holding picture at the end is the cutest thing ever.
  • Lee’s Almond Butter Balls look tasty and healthy. Always a win to me!
  • And if you’re going to only check out ONE LINK – then please let it be this one. A video Bex from BexLife put together of women (and one man!) showing their independence from bad attitudes and embracing a fit, self-love attitude through a montage of bikini photos from women of all shapes and sizes. Love yourself. How AMAZING!

3 Things Making Me Smile

  • Braedon’s fascination of all things Makenzie. He begs to wear her shoes, even!

  • The fact that even though the weather kept us from seeing fireworks for the 4th, we still had a great time since we had good friends for company. I love our friends!
  • Foam rolling. It hurts so good!

2 Announcements

  • only 2 WEEKS LEFT to register for Best Body Bootcamp
  • I ordered my study materials to get certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist!

I’m hoping to have my certification and be ready to offer that extension of services by the New Year. Smile

1 Motivation

Your Turn – What dream keeps coming back to you? Seen Magic Mike or read 50 Shades of Grey? I’ve actually done neither…but hope to have a girls night just for fun with a friend for the movie.

That picture of the little girl on the scale gets me every time I see it. I still struggle with body image and have a history of disordered eating and I am SO scared about my girls and making sure they grow up healthy. I would not wish those issues on anyone.

2 Nicole July 6, 2012 at 7:37 am

haven’t seen the movie or read the book…maybe one day! great link up post. love Bex’s video!

3 Julia H. @ Going Gulia July 6, 2012 at 7:48 am

Thanks for sharing the Bex video–all those women doing tough yoga poses (in bikinis nonetheless!) is inspriring :)

4 Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) July 6, 2012 at 7:56 am

It’s kind of funny, in all the years that I’ve stepped on the scale to tell me how “big” I am or to validate that I haven’t gotten bigger, now I beg people to step away from the scale. I hate the thing and it really tells you nothing important. Congrats on starting the nutrition study! I LOVED my course and it’s definitely perfect to go along with training!

5 Glenneth July 6, 2012 at 8:00 am

i have read the books and we are planning a GNO to see the movie!

6 Haley July 6, 2012 at 8:07 am

Food for thought – for Christians and non-Christians –

7 tinareale July 6, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Thanks for sharing that. I certainly do agree with a lot of the standpoints she made. I honestly have no desire to read the books and just found the poster funny. The main thought for the movie was less about the men and more about an afternoon/evening out with a friend. It did get me thinking though.

8 heather July 6, 2012 at 8:08 am

Aww thanks for the love! :)

9 tinareale July 6, 2012 at 12:44 pm

I’m always reading on my phone so can never really comment, but I am still around. :)

10 Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table July 6, 2012 at 8:09 am

I loved that Bex video. How awesome were those ladies rocking bikinis?!

Happy Friday!

11 Lee July 6, 2012 at 8:10 am

I want to make those popsicles. I have been on the hunt for popsicle molds. Target only had some device that actually froze your popsicles for you.

Umm, I read all 3 50 Shades books. Ha.

12 Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance July 6, 2012 at 8:15 am

Yey for more NASM materials! I actually started studying the FNS material myself a few months back. It’s really interesting!

13 Kelly July 6, 2012 at 8:47 am

I haven’t seen the movie…not really my style and I haven’t read the books either. Again not really my thing. I am definitely judging those books without having read them but my mom read them and told me that it would just piss my feminist self off and not to bother. From the reviews ans such I have heard from other people that seems to be the consensus…so I decided not to even go there.

14 tinareale July 6, 2012 at 12:49 pm

I don’t have a desire to read the books, either, since I’ve heard they are poorly written and the whole plot of it doesn’t appeal to me. The poster thing was funny to me, though.

15 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More July 6, 2012 at 9:16 am

I keep going back to my wanting to do personal training and more writing. I’m not sure how to get there from a financial standpoint in my life right now but I’m working towards figuring it out. That and making another cross country move…

16 jobo July 6, 2012 at 9:24 am

Fitness nutrition specialist! that is awesome!! you will be so SO good at that!! Happy weekend, friend!

17 Kimberly @ Redefining Kimberly July 6, 2012 at 9:45 am

I loved the Bex video. My daughter was in the office when I turned the video on. She crawled in my lap to watch it and her comment was “Mama, they strong like you.” Oh, if I can only learn to see myself the way my daughter does.

18 tinareale July 6, 2012 at 12:49 pm

Aw, that is precious!

19 Shannon ~ My Place In The Race July 6, 2012 at 9:57 am

22 Katie @ Peace Love & Oats July 6, 2012 at 12:35 pm

I love the idea of that video, although I have to say I wish there’d been more shapes and sizes! Those women all looked pretty fit to me! Haha and foam rolling does not make me smile, but I certainly need to be doing more of it!

23 Cheryl @ Happy is the new healthy July 6, 2012 at 2:39 pm

Fav post of the week = these! Can’t wait to check out that montage. And props to you on taking a classy foam rolling photo. I’ve yet to get one. :P

Thanks for the shout-out!! I LOVE that Braedon wants to wear Makenzie’s things hehe…I totally remember my brother doing stuff like that when we were little :) . I saw Magic Mike! Don’t expect much of a story, but the eye candy is totally legit ;) .

30 Paige @ Running Around Normal July 8, 2012 at 12:40 pm

I LOVED Bex’s video! So much awesome. Hope you had a great weekend, Tina :D

I actually haven’t had the time to read 50 Shades of Grey because my roommate loved it and read all 3 books twice over and couldn’t put them down- I know I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on real life with that kind of fantasy life on my mind! But I WILL read them soon. And I haven’t gone to see Magic Mike because the movies are so expensive these days and I really wanted to see Ted (the teddy bear movie). It was pretty hilarious! (if you like that kind of humor, sort of Family-Guy-esque as created by Seth McFarlane). It took place in Boston which is where I’m from so I really enjoyed the city scape views and Bostonian jokes.
