I think it’s time for a GIVEAWAY! It’s been too long, no? And what would be better than a giveaway for a great and healthy snack. Something to complement those tough Burpee Blaster Circuits and to help you get all that protein in like we talked about. I think this is a pretty good fit for both of those.
I first had the chance to try The Simply Bar during the wonderful Blend Retreat this past May. The company sponsored the gorgeous hike we all took…
…and I enjoyed my first bite of one of their bars (Cinnamon Pecan = yum!) after those hours on the trail.
Awhile later, I got an email from the kind folks at The Simply Bar asking if I wanted to try out all their bars and then have the chance to share them with YOU. I’ll take that offer. Besides, I had to make sure all the flavors lived up to the first one. And spread the love. I like to do that.
Now, for the details. What exactly IS The Simply Bar?
It is a natural bar that is all of the following:
- high protein made with non GMO soy crisps
- low glycemic made with just enough organic brown rice syrup for a subtle sweetness
- gluten-free and dairy-free
- all vegan
- all natural
On top of that, each bar has the most protein for the least amount of calories and sugar around. Each bar has 160 calories or less with 16 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber with under 3 grams of sugar. Win. Win.

- Caramel Peanut
- Cinnamon Pecan
- Cocoa Raspberry
- Cocoa Coffee
The texture is perfectly crunchy and doesn’t have that dry texture or fake taste that many other protein based bars I have tried do have. I have loved having these bars around for a snack on the run or even for a quick, protein packed breakfast.
For the record, the Lemon Coconut is my favorite. I have a weak spot for coconut and lemon. Clearly.
Another personal plus for me is that the bars don’t seem to affect me negatively. After getting diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I made some alterations to my diet – including drastically reducing the amount of soy I consumed. When I ate things like tofu, I would notice it affected my energy levels and caused a huge increase in fatigue. The Simply Bars don’t seem to have that affect. I’m still cautious in how often I eat them, due to my personal health needs, but I’m super glad they don’t have the same effects on me as some other soy products.
The only “con” I have for the bars is that they are a bit more expensive than most bars, but the high quality warrants it. They can also be hard to find.
