Scenes from the Week

by tinareale on September 21, 2012

Happy Friday! Did ya have a good week? I sure hope so! My week certainly included some high moments, which I will feature below. I also have the Best Body Bootcamp winners from the end of Round 2 ready to announce! We have the weekly winner for Week 8, the “Tina Appreciation” winner who gets a special prize pack of love directly from me, and the FOUR $1000 grand prize winners. Wish you had a chance to be a part of it? Well, you do! Don’t forget that Round 3 and the cash money prizes can be yours – Registration currently OPEN! Check it out. Then, check out these lovely scenes from my week. Have a good one, friends!

Okay, how cool is this to see on the morning of your long run. I had to stop and take a picture. I totally want to do this one day! Peter actually had wanted to propose in a hot air balloon ride…but Groupon didn’t exist back then.

Another running picture – 5 miles with a mile warm-up and cool-down plus 3 tempo miles at 8:50 pace in between. I’m so glad that running is still feeling good! Can’t wait to tackle 13 tomorrow! Bring on the Runner’s World Half Marathon in 1 month from today! Woo!

Look what came in the mail for me this week – my participant’s guide for the Chicago Marathon. Bummer moment! I hate that I had to put this race on hold…but I *will* run it someday. And until then, I will have a dang good time hanging out with this lady for the weekend and cheering on friends at the race! AND congratulating this lady on her recent engagement. Squeal!

Almost every day that I make my kids their lunch for preschool I get this overwhelming feeling that “I’m a mom!”. Don’t ask me why it hits me so strongly then, and why it still seems so surreal to me some days. It astounds me to think that I will have such great impact on these two little lives.

Aren’t they cute?! Well, Makenzie’s tongue and Braedon’s butt at the very least. Winking smile

Speaking of new little lives, my friend Laura just welcomed her handsome little son into the world about a week ago. I always remember how much a dinner I didn’t have to cook helped during those days, so whenever a friend has a baby I show up bearing food. This time a vegetable pot pie and some oatmeal flax raisin cookies. Seeing her cute boy was beyond worth the time in the kitchen!

Yep. I got poked! It didn’t hurt at all, just a dull achy feeling with some twinges here and there. I felt sore for the next 24 hours or so. Then, some of the knots in my lower left leg that I could not relieve seemed to disappear. Crazy! She can use me as a pin cushion whenever she wants. Does that sound dirty?

I am SO excited for the new series starting at our church on Sunday. Talking about those moments where we feel “owned” by life. Oh, boy, do I have those moments! Check out the teaser video for the series and you can even watch the message live online with me on Sunday at North Point Online. Andy Stanley does a great job of making his messages relatable to real life, regardless of where you stand in your personal faith. If you’re looking for a good podcast to download, I suggest checking out past messages too. The recent Future Family series had some of the best thoughts on family life I think I’ve ever heard. Okay, I’ll stop now. I just love love love love this church and it’s passion for truly helping others’ lives have joy, fulfillment, and strength.

Now for the WINNERS!!!!

I will email each of you sometime today to claim your prize! CONGRATS!!!!!

Your Turn – What was the best part of YOUR week???

1 Kristen @ Be Fit With Kristen September 21, 2012 at 7:09 am

Getting a phone call from a potential client who said she heard I was the best trainer in town. Made me feel like all of my hard work is really paying off. Happy Friday! :)

2 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:01 am

That is awesome to hear, I bet!

3 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More September 21, 2012 at 7:14 am

Best part of my week was starting my new part-time job. My coworkers all seem very nice, friendly and like they’ll be fun to work with.

4 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:02 am

That’s excellent! makes such a huge difference to feel good about where you’re working. :)

5 chelsey @ clean eating chelsey September 21, 2012 at 7:27 am

Two weeks!!! :)

And I want to win $1000!Lol

6 Amanda Perry @ Sistas of Strength September 21, 2012 at 7:58 am

The best part of my week was realizing that I really don’t work in a cubicle anymore, I love what I do and every single week goes by SO fast. I feel so lucky and blessed that I’m finally doing what I love and helping other people. YAY. :)

7 Lauren September 21, 2012 at 8:00 am

I saw that Chicago 1/2 and seriously contemplated it!!! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Chicago and I’m itching for a half this fall…wonder if it’s still too late to register. :)

8 Tiff (@LoveSweatBeers) September 21, 2012 at 8:31 am

While you’re making their lunches, can you make mine too? Mkaythanks. ;)

Happy Friday! Enjoy the rest of training.

9 misszippy September 21, 2012 at 8:43 am

I think the RW half will make up for Chicago! And you’ll be there next year, tearing it up.

I’m sure your friend appreciated the meal–no better gift for a new mama!

Off to Fitbloggin for the day, which is definitely a highlight in my week!

10 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:03 am

Agree! I’m so pumped that the RWHalf came through because I really wanted a fun fall race like this. You’re right that Chicago will still be there in the future.

11 Julie @ Sweetly Balanced September 21, 2012 at 8:48 am

The best part of my week was doing a back handspring at week 3 of my new gymnastics class!! I had a goal to do it by DECEMBER so you could imagine how exciting it was to do it so early!!

12 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:03 am

Woo! Talk about impressive!

13 jobo September 21, 2012 at 8:50 am

aww thank you for the shout out my friend!! It still looks SO WEIRD to see ‘engaged’ and that being ME! ahhhh! so exciting :) And I cannot WAIT to see you again in Chicago! so so awesome!!! PS I LOVE hot air balloons! I did that in wine country two years ago and want to do it again so badly!

14 Sarah @ Blonde Bostonian September 21, 2012 at 8:53 am

The best part of my week was my 5 mile run yesterday that started really tough and finished extremely strong. Happy weekend!

15 Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots September 21, 2012 at 9:25 am

If I am the Kaitlin C this makes me extremely happy!! Um I used to stick my tongue out like Mackenzie all the time when I was here age, especially when I was concentrating!

16 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:04 am

I did too. My parents have old video of my first dance recital and my tongue is out basically the ENTIRE time. Braedon does the tongue thing too. Maybe it’s genetic? Haha!

17 Tracey English September 21, 2012 at 9:29 am

Hi there – Let’s see, the best part of my week was Tuesday night, when my husband and I decided to declare the evening an “Unplugged Evening” for all of us. My 12 year old daughter wasnt pleased, but we all spent time together and between the 6 of us, were able to play a fun game together! :)

18 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:05 am

That sounds wonderful! I unplug as much as possible on the weekends. I get up and catuch up on a few things before I leave for my long run (what I’m doing now) and then aim to unplug most of the rest of the time. :)

19 Bari September 21, 2012 at 10:31 am

I love that shirt! If my kids were younger I’d get one. The best part of my week was probably hitting my paces on my 4x800s this week (ave 9:05 m/m pace!). For me that’s freaky fast!

20 Lisa September 21, 2012 at 11:20 am

Awe. Your kiddos are adorable! The best part of my week was hearing from my nutritionist that my goals this week that I saw for myself, were in fact successful.
I’m a little jealous you get to see Chelsey so soon;)

21 Alyssa @ Life of bLyss September 21, 2012 at 12:31 pm

um. I can’t get over how awesome your shirt is. ;)

22 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:05 am

I love it! Haha!

23 Brittany @Berries and Barbells September 21, 2012 at 1:15 pm

The best part of my week was watching my almost 3 year old “read” a bedtime story to his 13 month old brother. Priceless. Making lunches makes me feel more like a mom too. It’s such a “mom” thing to do!

24 Simone September 21, 2012 at 1:52 pm

the best part of my week was a after work sunset bike ride with friends, you can’t beat a nice rice, beautiful view and good friends after sitting at a desk all day

25 [email protected] September 21, 2012 at 3:45 pm

Love it! Yay for running feeling good :)

Best part of my week was being pushed to my limits at AIM 2 training for BodyPUMP. It was an amazing experience!! SOO very tough–physically & mentally.

26 Stacie September 21, 2012 at 8:29 pm

Hey Tina,

Hope your weekend got off to a splended start! Question for you regarding BBB Round 3 (which I am registered for). Is it required to be a member of Facebook? I am not a member (gasp!)…..and am probably the last person on this earth who hasn’t joined. I just don’t want to miss out on BBB stuff. Thanks!

27 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:07 am

Nope! Don’t have to be a member. The group is more for support among participants, but I do all official correspondence via email (such as sending workouts, check-in reminders, other updates, etc). Plus I’m always an email away when you may have questions as well. :)

28 purelytwins September 21, 2012 at 10:30 pm

wish we looked as good as you after a run :)
best thing all week is making it through, haha does that count?
excited for the weekend to relax with friends and watch some football

29 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:07 am

Instagram filters, baby. Instagram filters. ;)

30 Erica September 22, 2012 at 2:29 am

Oh my gosh- love that running shirt! It is overwhelming every once in a while when you realize the impact of being a Mom! Hope you have a great weekend!

31 Dani K September 22, 2012 at 2:37 am

The most exciting part of my week was winning one of the $1000 Bootcamp prizes, to be sure! I have an app that reads my emails aloud over my Bluetooth speaker, and I had to pull off the interstate because I was shaking. But aside from that unusual event, the nicest thing that happened to me was running into my boyfriend unexpectedly while I was with a client at work on an errand. Because of our schedules, we don’t usually get to see each other during the week.

32 Bek @ Crave September 22, 2012 at 2:45 am

The best part of my week is hard to choose- it’s just been so good :) Maybe getting offered another permanent Body Step class or being told I’m a good person :)

33 tinareale September 22, 2012 at 6:08 am

Congrats on the Body Step class!
