Fit Bit: Your #1 Goal

by tinareale on September 25, 2012

If you had to pick just one fitness goal, what would it be?

I’ll tell you mine…

do best

My #1 goal is always to do my best.

When you think about, that one thing can cover any goal  you have and help you reach any other goal you set your mind to achieving. Wake up each day with the determination to do your BEST for that day. Your best will look different on different days – and what is best for your physical and mental health will look different on different days, too. But if you go after each day with the mindset to do your best and you give it your best for that day, you have no reason to go to bed dissatisfied. Give it your best. That’s the #1 goal.

Your Turn – How are you going to give it your BEST today?

1 MizFit September 25, 2012 at 7:39 am

I’m making me a priority now so I can serve others after.

2 Caroline September 25, 2012 at 7:47 am

Giving my best today means that I will be present and actively listen in each of the sessions with my clients today!

3 Lauren September 25, 2012 at 8:01 am

I’m going to be present, open minded and always keep a positive attitude. ;) Thanks for these beautiful reminders Tina.

4 lindsay September 25, 2012 at 8:16 am

i always say that. Do your best with what you got on that day. Amen!

5 Lissy September 25, 2012 at 9:31 am

I used to tell myself that in college all the time when I was stressed out about an exam. I’ll just do my best because I can’t do any better than that no matter how much I worry :P Haven’t thought about it since. Thanks for the reminder :)

6 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More September 25, 2012 at 9:40 am

I’m going to do my best to tackle my to-do list today and use my day off to my benefit – by being productive AND having fun.

7 Tamara September 25, 2012 at 9:46 am

Right now, I’m focusing on LISTENING!
When I’m feeling swamped with work, kids’ activities, volunteering and life, I tend to stop listening to the people around me. Of course I hear what they’re saying to me, but it’s not really HEARING…

8 Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie September 25, 2012 at 10:09 am

I’m focusing on getting more sleep! I can’t be my best if I’m constantly tired and worn out.

9 Paige @ Your Trainer Paige September 25, 2012 at 10:50 am

That’s an awesome goal, Tina :)
Right now, my #1 goal (a little cheesy, but I know you’ll appreciate!) is to act/think/do what would please God. Sometimes jealousy/greed/bitterness etc. can permeate my thoughts, but I find if I keep this thought in the forefront, it helps keep it at bay!

10 tinareale September 26, 2012 at 6:42 am

That is always a goal in my life…and I have to say that I think having a goal to do things that please God would be our absolute best. ;)

11 Paige September 26, 2012 at 8:04 pm

It still doesn’t come 100% naturally to me…it’s like I have to remember to try!
and you sure got that right! :)

12 Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile September 25, 2012 at 10:51 am

Amen!!! Today, I am focusing on being productive and helping others in any way I can.

13 Laura @ Mommy Run Fast September 25, 2012 at 11:16 am

Great reminder. I’m feeling swamped after the weekend, with so much to catch up on and so little time! Do your best- today that means, do what I can, and not stress about the rest.

14 Lisa September 25, 2012 at 11:19 am

That’s a great goal! My goal is to set an intention for each day and live each day with gratitude and be compassionate towards every person, because we all deserve kindness in our lives. That incudes ourselves, and talk to ourselves in a positive way!

15 Shannon ~ My Place In The Race September 25, 2012 at 11:22 am

Amen! :D

16 Melissa @ Live, Love, & Run September 25, 2012 at 11:53 am

To make it MINE. My miles, my strength, my happiness, my body. It’s the one thing I don’t mind being “selfish” about. ;)

17 Adrienne @ Happy Ramblings September 25, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Thanks for the reminder! Sometimes I get caught up in trying to do much with my job, housework, running, and blogging that I exhaust myself and don’t enjoy any of it. My goal is to do my best to do what of these I can and enjoy them, instead of seeing them as a chore…except for vacuuming, that will be a chore.

18 Cat @ Breakfast to Bed September 25, 2012 at 12:48 pm

That’s similar to mine. My #1 goal for today is “get a nap”. It’s a good, if not lofty goal.

19 Angela @ Happy Fit Mama September 25, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Thanks for the reminder! I’m going to try my best to be patient. You would think I would have a high tolerance with two 2 year olds but there are some days that my patience is put severely to the test.

20 Ali September 25, 2012 at 1:22 pm

Great goal ;) ! I’m about to go do my best at they gym shortly ;) . Happy Tuesday!

21 tinareale September 26, 2012 at 6:43 am

Hope it was a good one!

22 Kelly @ Cupcake Kelly's September 25, 2012 at 1:48 pm

Be a better role model for my kids.

23 Julie @ Sweetly Balanced September 25, 2012 at 1:58 pm

I’m going to give it my best today by not being terrified to try things at my class tonight like I usually am!!

One fitness goal I have is to run a marathon!!

24 Heather @ Better With Veggies September 25, 2012 at 2:39 pm

Love this – and your amazing attitude! My fitness goal right now is discipline – no more games. :)

25 melody September 25, 2012 at 2:52 pm

great post! Today my {best} is a double run (6 miles in the morning, 5 miles tonight).

My goal: be thankful!

26 Patty September 25, 2012 at 3:11 pm

Today I am going to get my 8 glasses of water in. Being away this weekend, it was hard to get all the water in, so I’m feeling it now.

Thanks for the reminder to do my best.

27 Pavement Runner September 25, 2012 at 7:42 pm

I ran and I ran fast. I brought it.

My best has been done!

28 purelymichelle September 25, 2012 at 9:43 pm

i gave it my best today by staying calm when things got a little crazy here
a big improvement for me, haha

29 Brittany @Berries and Barbells September 26, 2012 at 12:00 am

I ate a few too many cookies yesterday so this morning I woke up feeling quite sluggish. I really wanted to skip my circuit workout and opt for an easy yoga class instead. I knew I would be cheating myself if I took it easy so I picked myself up, blasted my music and worked until the sweat was dripping into my eyes. After my workout I felt great and knew that I had done my best!

30 Bek @ Crave September 26, 2012 at 6:42 am

I gave it my best today by not giving up both during exercise and struggle times (mentally).

31 tinareale September 26, 2012 at 6:44 am

Great job!

32 Iris Lee September 26, 2012 at 11:51 am

Hi Tina! I truly look forward to reading your blog posts, because I know that whether it’s a killer workout, food for thought, or great resources on healthy living, I am going to get something great out of coming to BBF!

Bloggers like you have inspired me to start my own blog (only a couple days old!). It would make me so excited (and starstruck!) if you have a moment to stop by and say hello. This is long overdue, but thank you for blogging!
