Scenes from the Week

by tinareale on October 12, 2012

Good morning! We made it to Friday. Although, I have to say, that this week zoomed right on by and I’m not sure I’m quite ready for Friday yet. Go ahead and “boo” on that. I just still have so many things to catch up on from over the week and don’t want to carry any of them into the weekend. I like my weekends FREE.

I am eerily excited for this morning’s post. Lately I have really been missing the old life recapping style of blogging. The Scenes from the Week posts always make me smile as a chance to catch up with all of you and this week I’m feeling it even more than normal. Who knows? Maybe I’ll include more “daily life” style talk again in my posts. That’s the beautiful thing about blogging…flexibility and going with what feels right on any given day. And today, what feels right is some Scenes from the Week. Happy Friday!

After spending the weekend in the chill of Chicago and eating pumpkin oatmeal in the morning with Chelsey, I didn’t want to let that go when I got home. I luckily found a hoarded can in my pantry to satisfy my newfound cravings for pumpkin. I knew it would happen eventually. #typicalblogger

It’s been almost a YEAR since I switched over to Best Body Fitness from Faith Fitness Fun. WOW! And I just now got my butt in gear and made some business cards for the new site. Do you like? I love!

They played this video of a dog “talking” to his owner about food at Chelsey’s church last weekend as a little introduction to the sermon topic. You gotta watch it! Perfect for a Friday chuckle.

Now that I have had the chance to try my Vega shakes I ordered without blending the silica gel packet into my smoothie, I can give a better opinion of them. And the opinion = new favorite smoothie addition! The almond vanilla flavor makes my taste buds quite happy. I now feel pleased with my impromptu decision to buy 4 bags worth during the BOGO sale I found last week. I don’t have to choke down smoothies for the next half a year! Yay!

I don’t know who this kid is because he simply cannot be my baby. He is getting too big! I swear I came home from my weekend away and he had aged two years in that time frame. Wasn’t he a newborn like…yesterday? Yeah. I thought so, too. Instead he’s walking and talking and doing adorable things like…

It melts my heart. I hope they always stay this close. And that they always stay this young. #wishfulthinking

Look what I found for $6 yesterday! That is one heck of a large container of MaraNatha almond butter. I did, however, realize that I prefer the regular kind to the “no stir” version. Still tasty and still a STEAL, though!

So apparently food and kid talk is all I got for you today. Nothing wrong with that to me! Now you tell me…best thing you ate this week? Best recent deal you found? Cutest thing you’ve seen recently?

love your new business cards!!! the picture of your kids holding hands is precious!!!!

2 Lindsay October 12, 2012 at 6:48 am

Some cuteness: my friend’s 90 year old grandmother asked me to stay with her when her husband goes out of town. The exchange? She’ll teach me how to make meringue cookies. Precious. I love her.

3 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:10 am

That is adorable! I hope when I’m old I can be a cute, happy woman like that. :)

4 chelsey @ clean eating chelsey October 12, 2012 at 7:00 am

ha! I linked to the video of the dog today too! Great minds think alike?

And I want to squeeze your children.

5 Becky Przy October 12, 2012 at 8:10 am

Love your business cards! How cute are your kids?!?!

Best thing I have eaten all week–’throw everything in a crockpot and call it dinner” (rutabaga, pumpkin, broccoli, quinoa, black beans, brown rice, tomato juice, water)

6 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:12 am

That DOES sound good! And I gotta say that I’m so happy crockpot season is back!

7 Tiff @ Love Sweat and Beers October 12, 2012 at 8:24 am

I do love those business cards. So professional! ;) The best thing I ate this week was my edamame curry last night, but it’s about to get better tonight when the hubs takes me to dinner.

8 Calee (@chimes) October 12, 2012 at 8:42 am

Love the new biz cards (the side with the barbell esp. though your face is beautiful on the other side too).

9 [email protected] Palate October 12, 2012 at 8:46 am

Best thing I ate this week…the new quinoa chocolate banana bread with cacao nibs…up today if your interested! I’ve one slice left! Cutest….my little niece aged 4 peeling the sprouts for dinner, she’s like a little granny! (I think she’s actually turning in to me :) )

10 Cat @ Breakfast to Bed October 12, 2012 at 8:51 am

our kids are getting too big too fast and it’s both beautiful and heartbreaking.

11 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More October 12, 2012 at 9:07 am

Best thing I ate may have been the pumpkin french toast I made for breakfast this morning – YUM! Or the sample of chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake I tried at work. We just started selling them and my oh my, they’re going to be hard to avoid.

And the new biz cards are AWESOME!

12 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:13 am

I know I wouldn’t be able to avoid them! That sounds good. although I would happily take some pumpkin french toast too. :)

13 [email protected] October 12, 2012 at 9:21 am

i can’t believe it’s been a year since the switch – time seriously flies! and, as always, cutest thing this week is my sweet boy. can’t help it ;)

15 Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries October 12, 2012 at 10:38 am

I’m on a pumpkin lately too! Can’t get enough! And your little kiddos are the CUTEST! I can’t get enough of that photo of them holding hands. My heart melted!

16 KymberlyFunFit October 12, 2012 at 11:05 am

I have to agree – your new cards look professional and attractive! Way to go and grow! I think I have that same can of pumpkin in my cupboard (from 10 years ago maybe?)

17 Katie @ Peace Love & Oats October 12, 2012 at 11:51 am

hahaha now I have to know, what was the sermon topic!?!?

18 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:14 am

It was about Joseph and how things just kept sounding good and hopeful, but then WHAMMY dreams crushed. I thought it was such a cute little way to segue into the topic. Love when churches get creative and have fun like that.

19 Rebecca Wright October 12, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Thanks for the info on the Vega shakes! I recently found out that I’m allergic to milk (which means whey protein is out sadly) so it’s nice to find a good protein that’s not just soy.

20 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:16 am

I try to avoid soy with my thyroid, so it’s always been tough to find options. I’m really liking these. I’ve tried the tropical, vanilla, and chocolate flavors. All good. Vanilla was my favorite, though.

21 Jen October 12, 2012 at 12:04 pm

Your business cards are incredible! & I am a huge fan of the pumpkin as well. And your kids are adorable!!!

22 Bethany @ Accidental Intentions October 12, 2012 at 12:05 pm

Ahhhhhhh what an adorable pictures of your kids!! Too, too precious.

A couple weeks ago I got a pair of $145 sunglasses for $17.40 through one of those deal websites that I belong to. Pretty sure that was the best deal of my life haha.

24 Amanda Perry @ Sistas of Strength October 12, 2012 at 1:33 pm

No need to choke down smoothies when they can be OH SO GOOD. :) Smoothies are one of my favorite things…they can taste like milkshakes when done right!

25 Dawn October 12, 2012 at 3:16 pm

I really do love the new business cards!

26 Lisa October 12, 2012 at 3:29 pm

The business cards look so good! And the picture of your kiddos is absolutely precious! Love.
PS. Can I still register for your bootcamp? Or has it closed already?

27 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:17 am

Registration ends midnight Monday (so technically Tuesday). You still have time. Would love to have you! :)

28 Caroline October 12, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Your kiddos are so close! I love it. My brothers and I stayed really close and are all great friends. We even can finish eachother’s sentences, say the same thing at the same time, and talk in a sort of made up language. At a distance we all three think of the same thing at the same time and then communicate with the others about it. I’ve always loved having that ability, so maybe they will too!

29 [email protected] October 12, 2012 at 6:19 pm

Oooh great cards! I need to get my butt in gear with that…yep. Still too lazy to do it…

I ddin’t like that vega flavor actually, but the rest of ‘em I did! And yes, that AB is sooo good & I love the price. Just bought 2 yesterday at Costco :)

30 Iris October 12, 2012 at 7:26 pm

31 tinareale October 13, 2012 at 6:19 am

It will be a year end of November. It has been one heck of a year! Thanks for reading and being a support and friend (I consider all readers/fellow bloggers friends – it’s a community, after all!).

Have a great weekend!

32 Bek @ Crave October 12, 2012 at 9:17 pm

33 Leonor @FoodFaithFitness October 14, 2012 at 9:54 pm
