Friday came right up like a speed demon this week, huh? Wow! I don’t even feel like I did much of anything to warrant my days to fly right on by. Not complaining. Not one bit. Besides, Scenes from the Week day is always a good time.
Even though I found myself posting a bit more frequently this week to include a more personal touch to my blogging again (hope you liked it!), I still have quite a bit that got left off the blog throughout the week. That’s what this post is for – to catch up on the little details of life.
I used to hate hate hate grocery shopping. Seriously. Hate. Then, I started doing my weekly shopping at Trader Joe’s instead of just using it as a fun trip every now and again. Turns out, I DO like to grocery shop! Only when it’s in such a stress free environment that includes little details like free samples.

I got to try this Cranberry Chevre cheese this past week. I now officially know what to bring to the potluck brunch I have coming up in a few weeks. Added bonus, I have saved some money on groceries (although we will ignore that it’s probably cancelled out in gas for the slightly further drive). Whatever. I’m just happy that it’s not such a pain to achieve this anymore!

Which, in turn, leads to things like this…
English muffin with almond butter and pumpkin butter (gotta love TJs!)
quinoa loaded up with apple chicken sausage, roasted brussels, butternut squash, and ginger chutney
Deliciousness.
Other good parts of the week included witnessing a lot of God’s beauty.

I also had to go on a drive for a particular errand this week that took me a bit north. The leaves were full on bright reds, oranges, and yellows and I wished I could just stare the whole way instead of doing that whole eyes on the road while driving thing.
Let’s see? What else have I been up to this week? Running…

Duh.
And also getting a trigger point massage to hopefully keep my muscles ready to run.

Ouch.
And getting fun packages in the mail.

Last week New York & Company had some sort of crazy sale – 40% all purchases and BOGO 50% deal for pants and then a $15 off coupon. I don’t know how or why, I just know I took advantage to nab 2 new washes in my favorite jean leggings for a steal. Think I should wear my new FitFluential ViewSport tank with them? Don’t put it past me. You know I have little fashion sense. Besides, the tank is CUTE.
Lastly, since no Scenes from the Week post is complete without a little kiddo cuteness…

Dining on their daily bowl of oatmeal! PS – I think I’ve created a monster. Or better put – a monkey. I can’t get that girl out of that thing when we’re at home. At least it’s warm and cozy, so I let her have at it.
Well, that’s all for now! See you later for The Weekend Counts – motivational quotes/thoughts to carry you through the weekend!
Your Turn – If you have kids, do they live in their costumes post Halloween too? When’s the last time you got a massage? What do you enjoy about grocery shopping?

Grocery shopping is ALWAYS so much better with free food. I think if more stores tapped into this, they would increase their sales significantly.
Have a great weekend Tina!!
Oh my gosh, that monkey eating oatmeal is just too cute!!!
I have never had a massage–I am just as shocked as you;-) The husband says Graston by the chiropractor is my massage.
I love buying new products (even if they are just new to me) and looking for good deals!
I LOVE grocery shopping – I know, I’m weird. Especially in fun places like TJ’s! A new food discovery is like finding a hidden treasure
Oh, that English muffin looks seriously delish….. I (usually) like grocery shopping because it’s executing a plan (a.k.a. the shopping list). And as with executing any plan, you feel accomplished when you’re done. I also love trying the cheese samples… not gonna lie.
If I only liked making the shopping list though… that’s the part that gets me.
i am loving the more personal posts! they’re always my favorite part of blogs – probably because i’m kind of a creepy stalker by nature. glad you had such an awesome week – i definitely need to go to tj’s more often!
your kids are soo adorable!! Their costumes look warm and cozy so I dont blame them for wearing them! I am dying for a professional massage!
I got a massage just last month. I need another!
Your clean fridge makes me think I need to clean out mine…again!
Have a great weekend!
L wore her costume constantly up until Halloween, but seems to have forgotten about it now. I like the personal posts! I’m trying to include more of those lately, too.
cutest picture of the kids! I am glad you got a massage, that is self care at its finest
Your little monkey eating oatmeal is just the cutest! I have also been loving the more frequent posts this week!
Your fridge is so clean, but awesomely stocked! I need to get on that here! I love grocery shopping, sometimes a little too much!
that dinner with the chicken sausage sounds incredible…i wish i had it for breakfast right now!
The nearest TJ’s is 20 miles away, but I love going there a couple times a year to stock up. My last visit was the first time I tried their chicken sausage, and it was so incredible that I’ll be going more often from here on out. Some of their prices haven’t changed since I started going there 5 years ago – almost like they didn’t get the memo that food prices have gone up. Love them.
I love grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s! I don’t mind it at other grocery stores, but I’m a big fan of grocery shopping when I’m at TJ’s. I’m usually in super crazy hurry up and get home mode when I shop, but on the rare occasions when I have time to linger, I spend forever in Trader Joe’s. They have so many cool and tasty products! And the free samples are definitely a bonus
Post Halloween is alive in our house! Every morning since Halloween my wife and I have had breakfast with Captain America or Wolverine (depending how my son wakes up in the morning).

I love Trader Joe’s! we went there this past weekend on what you referred to as the ‘fun shopping trip’
I just wish they had more dairy-free options. But them along with Harry’s are always a good day, especially when I have extra funds!
Trader Joe’s makes EVERYTHING BETTER! I actually just wrote a post today about my Trader Joe’s trip. http://lifeasliv.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/trader-joes-love/
I swear, I think it’s the fun packaging that gets me. I’m such a sucker for aesthetically pleasing products.
And your kids are almost too cute for words. Those costumes…PRECIOUS.
Ginger chutney?! Is that from TJS?!?? I was just there and didn’t see that! And if I had a monkey costume, I’d totally wear it all the time too.
Yep! I want to say it was over by all the masala and curries.
I love massages. Hurts so good!
And yes, TJs is the bomb. Can’t wait til it opens here in SLC at the end of the month!!!!!!
Oh man, I WISH I could have gotten my son in his costume! I got him this amazingly adorable monster costume from One Step Ahead and I got him in it once with much screaming…. come Halloween and thereafter he shrieks like a banshee if he so much as SEES it! Oy.
I love massages. I am much overdue. I think the last one I got was a prenatal massage? And Mini Terrorist is almost 2 now. So sad.
Random question : what type/kind of water pitcher do you have? I’m looking for something similar.
It’s a pur filter/pitcher. It has a spout and the filter on top to drip down to the main water holder. I wish I could tell you where I got it. I think Peter got it from his brother who got a different pitcher a few months ago and gave us their other one. We like it.
I’m glad I turned you onto TJ’s for regular shopping trips! It is the best!!!
