Now that registration for Round 4 of Best Body Bootcamp is officially under way, I thought some of you might enjoy hearing thoughts from those who have been involved. For this month’s weekly guest post line-up, I have some current participants sharing their experiences with Best Body Bootcamp. I have Cat, the self proclaimed “tinamurderer”, ready to kick off the series for you today!
Even if you have no intention of ever doing BBB, you still have to read her post (or at least click over to her blog). She is one of my favorite bloggers around. Hilarious, motivational, creative in the kitchen, and has such a way with words. A MUST read in my reader. She’ll tell you like it is, so you can certainly take her word for her thoughts on Best Body Bootcamp. Have fun reading! I sure did.
***********************
Like most healthy living bloggers, I spend a great deal of my time doing absolutely nothing but sitting on my rumpity rump perusing Pinterest for workouts I should be doing, and healthy crap I should be consuming. Of course, I’m doing this while I’m drinking my seventeenth cup of coffee and "taste testing" my latest Christmas cookie recipe.
More and more of my bloggy friends were pinning another one of my bloggy friends’ workouts. I just kept seeing Tina every dang place on Pinterest, as well as happily ensconced in my reader. I took it as a sign from G-d. Ok, it might also be like that one recipe you keep seeing on Pinterest, and you think to yourself "I should probably go make that!!" Yeah, I’m thinking it was the hand of G-d.
I have read T’s blog for a long time; almost since its inception, and since she started her Best Body Bootcamp, I’ve been intrigued. She is a veritable blonde bonanza of fitness fantastic, but I was unsure of the extremely underpriced fitness routines she would offer. I have no reason why I hesitated. Had I known the level of awesome I could achieve, I’d not have, I assure you. I’d have jumped on that train quicker than if it held a less-than-dressed Michael Fassbender holding a dozen roses and a bottle of wine.
You must understand. I am a CrossFitter. I am a marathoner. I am SUPER jaded when it comes to workouts. I am fickle, and I don’t love doing the same things over and over again. I was TERRIFIED that Tina’s, much like other online training programs would have the same issues of redundancy and be underwhelming.
I was wrong.
me during my first boot camp workout.
Let’s take a quiz. Don’t worry, I won’t judge you for answering incorrectly, because be assured, I have this rigged.
A "Scorpion" is
A: an insect found in warm climates with a really yucky tail.
B: a peculiar dance move found only in the seediest of Jersey nightclubs
C: a ritualistic torture device brought upon you from the fieriest pits of hell…or Tina
Obvie, the answer is "all of the above", but since I didn’t give that as an option (hellooooo, I RIGGED it) the correct answer is C.
The "Scorpion" is a crazy move which made me want to drive southward from the loving, cold embrace of NYC to the peach state and kick Tina in her teeth.
These workouts are no joke. Not even to a running-like-you-stole-the-hope-diamond and-timing-the-whole-thing-while-jump-roping gal such as myself. If you do the Best Body Bootcamp be prepared for your body to change, but be even more prepared to be both humbled and inspired. There are levels to each workout, and you’ll never feel like she’s far away from the process. Yes, my shoulders are more defined, and my calves look killer, but I know, in my spirit that I can do more than what I thought I could. I can reach deep into myself and get through a crazy workout, and come out on the other side a stronger PERSON.
Maybe I was wrong earlier, maybe it was a sign from G-d. I mean, I’ve been praying for a butt-lift for years, and Tina seems to be the instrument of G-d’s grace in this.
Me. 2/3 through bootcamp…with SHOULDER definition. Be jealous.

Cat is the snarky fitness and healthy (and sometimes not so healthy) recipe writer at Breakfast to Bed. She is the mother to Captain Crazypants and the Peanut. It is her life’s goal to win a full glitz pageant on "Toddlers and Tiaras" but is fairly certain that isn’t possible. Instead, she’s working hard to stay healthy, maintain a 175lb weight loss, and be a good example to her family.

O my gosh Cat you crack me up. And yes, Tina is frickin awesome, despite her scorpion prescriptions.
very funny post….and Cat you look amazing…you had a 175 pound weight loss??? That’s it …no more excuses to the flab on my bottom side…time to start working it off!
Okay, this was the most hilarious thing I’ve read EVER. It’s great you have testimonials like this TIna!
Now THIS is a review.
I had no doubt that you’d be awesome at what you do, Tina, and Cat’s post is the perfect testimonial.
And 175 pounds lost?!?!? Wow. Just…wow. Congratulations!!! I never knew that…
Ohmygosh, I love this review!! So true. And speaking from someone who is definitely NOT a crossfitter, the bootcamp really is adjustable to any level of fitness. I could barely attempt those Scorpions, LOL!
hahaha SO FUNNY!!! i remember the first bootcamp – i was like uhhh what?!
Ah yes, good times with the scorpions and surrenders! I’ve loved every minute of it, and it’s easy to scale down or up to anyone’s level. I’ve been very happy with the workouts and the results!
This was an awesome review!
This made me laugh. Loudly. Fantastic review and any time someone wants to come down and kick you in the teeth, you know you’re doing your job
175 lbs ?! That is fantastic!
Cat, you are simply amazing. What a great review!
Haha I love this! I hope you’re still doing BBB after our little one is born. I’ve been wanting to participate ever since you launched the first round, but have opted out because of health reasons and now being pregnant.
So hilarious! Thanks for sharing, Cat. You’re shoulders are definitely enviable.
BTDubs, adding you to my Google Reader…. wait for it…. wait for it…. now!
No one tells it like Cat. I had a lot of the same hesitations and I can tell you that BBB has had me on my hands and knees. I’m ready to get in the car with Cat and take a drive south for a little “visit” with Tina
HAHA. I love this. (not surprising since I love Cat). For Cat to say that it’s tough, it must be insanely hard!!
Lol! Cat’s post had me cracking up but she speaks the truth. Best Body Bootcamp is a tough series of workouts! I am eager for Round 5!
Well, eff. Now I REALLY want to register. Can I do this? On top of marathon training? Or do you think if I do both, I’ll die? I’ve been praying for a butt lift for EVER!
haha love this. love you both!
I was whining to Catnip the other day that I am dyinggggg to do BBB. I lack structure, discipline, and all that jazz. I also lack a fun little thing called muscle. I want those. Bad.
Can’t wait to read more of the guest postage! If we sign up that means you come and personally torture us, right?
No? How do I make THAT happen?
Awesome! I’d love to try your BBB but I just don’t know if I can fit it in with my current classes and teaching- for now, I’ll live vicariously through everyone else
If only all reviews were this well-written and witty. Great review!
What a great testimonial – I think I’ll sign up
