As the end of the fourth round of Best Body Bootcamp draws nearer, I have come to a conclusion. The women who participate in these 8 weeks are nothing short of awesome! They work hard in their own workouts, then turn around and support other participants as well. They deserve a little bit of attention, wouldn’t you say? Which is exactly what I plan to do with this new “Bootcamper of the Week” series!

Hello readers of Tina’s Blog! My name is Tara Deal, and I blog over at Treble in the Kitchen.
I am a 23-year-old general group fitness instructor, certified Les Mills Bodypump instructor, and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer who loves to experiment with healthy (and sometimes not so healthy!!) foods in the kitchen. I am currently working as a hotel Sales Manager by day and group fitness instructor, healthy-living blogger, running group leader, and amateur chef by early morning and evening.
First and foremost, I want to say thank you to Tina for reaching out to me to share my Best Body Bootcamp experience with all of you!
I was a participant in the third round of Best Body Bootcamp, and I loved every single second of it!! As a certified trainer and group fitness instructor, some people have asked why I would want to participate in something like this when I can make these workouts myself. I joined for several reasons. I had just finished training for two half marathons and wanted to switch my routine from a heavy running focus to something else. I didn’t want to have to come up with my own workouts (time is SO valuable!). I like to see what other people are doing in the industry and wanted to use this as a learning tool. And, finally, I wanted to become part of the amazing community that I read about on Tina’s blog and on blogs of other participants.
When it comes to my workouts, I LOVE the feeling of truly being pushed to my limit, and Tina’s workouts never left me feeling short of that.
I learned some new exercises, such as the scorpion, and I really enjoyed setting mini goals for myself each week. I try to live a healthy and active lifestyle every single day, but there are always things that I can improve on. Setting the goals really allowed me to assess my lifestyle, find the weaknesses, and attempt to strengthen them one goal at a time.
I honestly loved the entire program, but I think that my favorite exercise was the scorpion. You can watch a video demo of the move here! My favorite new-to-me technique was the ladder-based workout. Tina gives a great overview of that technique here. There was also a good amount of burpees in the mix. Now, I wouldn’t say that I am a fan of burpees, but I kind of love that they are always a challenge and leave me flat on the floor every single time.
Another thing that I loved about the program was the flexibility. While we did keep track of the goals that we achieved and whether or not we were active, there was never any pressure that I HAD to complete a specific workout on a specific day. If I attended a yoga class on a Friday, I could count that as my movement for the day, even though it was not “technically” part of the BBB program. I loved that aspect of it!!
If you are joining BBB for the first time, I highly recommend joining the Facebook page. It is a great way to meet people completing the program, talk to others about the various exercises, get motivated to complete your goals, and make new friends! There are so many people that complete this program with so many different backgrounds. Some people were completely new to exercising, and then there were people like me who are actually certified fitness professionals completing this program. Tina does a great job at catering to all levels and providing options for everyone.
I can’t say it enough, but thank you Tina for creating such an amazing program!
