Always a sucker for alliteration…so I bring you “Friday Five”! I have an unusual pep in my step this morning. Either from the knowledge I will be island hopping before I know it or perhaps because I have a lot of packing still left to finish. A lot a lot. Procrastination at it’s finest.
I have big hopes for the Friday Five and plan to do lots of tips type posts or videos highlighting various exercises or training thoughts. Trip prep got the best of me for today’s post as I have my packing essentials on the brain. Of course we all need things like toiletries to get clean and fresh underwear to smell clean and other standard fare for packing, but what about those extras that you simply cannot leave without when traveling? I highlight my five favorites below, including some newbie faves.
A blogger needs her camera! I love my DSLR but don’t plan to bring it on this trip. The thought of lugging a hugh jass camera around while hiking mountains, zip lining, and bar hopping doesn’t sound all too appealing. Thankfully Amazon Prime just happened to have a freakishly ridiculous $200 off deal for a Canon Powershot just when I needed it. That baby will be in my hands later this afternoon and I shall snap snap away all sorts of fun things to pop in and share with you.
Technogel, my family thanks you for helping me sleep better and the resulting minimized afternoon slumps. My neck and shoulders also thank you for the reduced tightness.
You have converted me to one of those crazy people who must bring her pillow with her whenever possible on overnight trips. I may have to make a concession to sleep in cramped quarters on the cruise, but I shall still sleep soundly with my head upon the best pillow to ever exist.
Gotta love a Nook to have multiple books at your fingertips! Currently, I’m reading a dystopian novel called Delirium but I need to add another book or two before leaving. I hope my library has some of the books I have marked to read in my GoodReads account!
Walking or Running Shoes (or both!)
Walking or running to explore provides both fun and a workout, so I’m coming prepared with my Saucony Ride running shoes to keep up with a few short runs for training plus my Vibrams for playing tourist in all the places we visit.
What will you not find in my suitcase ever? A ton of accessories, different shoes, and various bags to match and coordinate. Nope. Give me a couple shoe options, my wedding bands, and 1-2 versatile bags and I will have plenty to get me through my trip. Lucky for me, the perfect travel bag came just in time.
This San Francisco Tote bag from Run Run Run Bags will cover all my needs.
- made of water-proof material so perfect for the beach
- folds up for easy travel
- design suitable for heavy weight
- interior pockets for storage
- and, of course, super cute design!
I’ve only had these bags a little over a week but cannot say enough good things about them and have used them literally every day. So versatile and can’t wait to bring them with me on the cruise.
The yellow bag (seen in the photo with my Nook above) is a reader cover from Run Run Run Bags. And even though I wont’ need it on my trip, you can’t forget the insulated lunch totes that fold up, have a TON of room, and the most adorable designs I’ve ever seen for a lunch box.
Some other perks of these bags? The inspirational sayings on the inside of each.
Plus, they are eco-friendly and WALLET-FRIENDLY. The most expensive item on their site is $35 with most items clocking in between $15-20. I’m down with that, what about you? Wait. It gets better. From now until April 30th you can get 10% off your order with code BBFitness.
And it STILL gets even better! Run Run Run Bags is offering to give away one of these Italia totes in the Red Ikat design to one lucky reader!
Just leave a comment on the post for an entry. Since I’m traveling soon this will be a quick turn around giveaway. You have just until midnight TONIGHT to enter. Happy Friday!
