**Best Body Bootcamp Round 5 Registration Opened Today**

After a week away, I’m still trying to get adjusted to “real life” again. I had so many good memories!

On one hand it feels so great to return home to the kiddos and the regular goings-on of life. On the other hand, I miss the warm sun and all that fun Peter and I had together. We’re already discussing when and where we will want to go next.

A lot happened on my cruise that I haven’t had the chance to catch you up on yet. I really need to recap the best day on our trip, don’t you think? I thought you would agree.

The first day Peter and I started looking at excursions for the cruise we booked this trip. It was for something I have always wanted to do and, after seeing the reviews, we immediately signed up.

Side note: if you can, do NOT book excursions through the cruise ship. Search places like Trip Advisor and Cruise Critics forums for excursion suggestions and ideas. You can do even better tours for half the price. That’s the only way we would have found cave-tubing.com and the wonderful experience we had that day. I cannot recommend them enough if you ever find yourself in Belize.

Anyway – the day started with an hour long bus ride to the caves and zip lines.

It passed quickly between the interesting backgrounds Ashton and Wayne, our two guides, shared and chatting with other travelers. Before we knew it, we arrived and everyone got squared away to their separate groups for the activities planned.

The zip-lining group headed first to get all harnessed up and traverse the climbs up into the trees.

I thought I would feel a bit more nervous once up in the air, but I never had the chance to feel nervous. The crew all helped me feel comfortable and then I was off down my first line. I laughed the entire way.

It was so much fun!

The lines gradually got longer and longer as we got further up into the trees. We made about 6 or 7 passes and then had a couple final ones to come back down. It went by too quickly! I need to find some zip-lining around here. Although I doubt it will be as neat as going through a jungle. Ya think?

Luckily the fun didn’t end there, though. We still had the second part of our tour – the caves!

After a pretty long walk (about a mile) over a bunch of rocks (ouch in only Vibrams!) we made it to the river starting point. Ashton, our guide, got our group all tied up and ready to go on our rafts, ready to float through the caves and tunnels.

I wish I had more pictures of it but our camera got terrible pictures unfortunately. We saw some cool statues that were formed in the limestone over time. And a spider literally the size of my hand. That part wasn’t too cool. I don’t do spiders. Everything else was really cool to see, though.

Once out of the caves we had another 15-20 minute ride down the river before having to head back to the bus. On the way back to the docks we stopped for some chicken tamales for lunch.

They were good, but not quite as good as the fresh chicken fajitas from the other excursion.Still satisfied my belly, though! Then, just like that, another excursion and port day ended.

The next day we visited Roatan, Honduras.

It was the most beautiful of all the ports we visited, but our excursion was somewhat of a let down. We did a beach day on the West Bay beaches with plans to snorkel, kayak, and chill in some lounge chairs.

The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed the kayaking we did in the clear blue waters. .

We had hoped to lounge and relax too, however, there was constant hounding to buy things so you couldn’t really relax. The beach also promised great snorkeling directly off the beach, which was a pretty big let down. Oh well. You win some and lose some with the excursions. We still enjoyed ourselves before calling it another day and doing our usual routine of dinner and a show for the night time fun on the ship.

I still have one more fun day to recap with you all, but I’ll save that for a couple days from now. Don’t want to bombard you with cruise talk after all. Have a great Tuesday!

Ever been zip-lining before? If not, would you want to go? What type of excursions would you prefer – more action filled or relaxation filled?

Ahhh your vacation looks like so much fun!! And you guys are TOO CUTE in your Vibrams. I love it!
A friend gave Greg and me a gift certificate to go ziplining as a wedding gift! We finally redeemed it last fall- and it was a whole ropes course along the Shenendoah River. I LOVED IT! I would love to go again- especially in a tropical location!
Oh- and kayaking too- another favorite of mine! I need to vacation with you guys!

I did zip lining once. We got three trips through the line. The first time was terrifying (I’m afraid of heights) and almost didn’t do it. But the next two were slightly easier and somewhat fun. :)

SO fun! Cave tubing is the best. Glad you had such a great time :)

6 Bethany @ The OC Fit Girl March 5, 2013 at 5:16 pm

Wow this looks like SO much fun! My hubby and I did a zip lining adventure on our honeymoon and we loved it :)

7 Angie @ Losing It and Loving It March 5, 2013 at 5:45 pm

Yes we do want to go zip lining sometime. Our favorite activity ever is snorkeling. When we go to Jamaica, we snorkel 2-3 times a day. Maybe one day we’ll get certified to dive but I’m not quite ready for that yet.

Looks like another great excursion!

I was so bummed that we didn’t get any good snorkeling on the trip since the place we booked wasn’t what we expected. Next time!

9 Katie @ Peace Love & Oats March 5, 2013 at 5:53 pm

How FUN! I love ziplining! We went in Hawaii, and it was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip.

12 Maria March 5, 2013 at 6:48 pm

We were going to zipline in Hawaii last week, but my husband was too scared. Okay, okay…it was me.

You guys are adorable :)

13 Jennifer S March 5, 2013 at 6:55 pm

We went zip lining and cave tubing in Belize as well. No giant Spiders for us :) Our cruise stopped in Guatemala rather than Roatan. I can’t wait to hear about your stop in Cozumel :)

14 Lee March 5, 2013 at 8:00 pm

We went ziplining both times we went to Mexico and it was the highlight of both trips. So fun.

15 tinareale March 6, 2013 at 7:02 am

I thought of you when we passed a group doing the Tulum ruins. :)

And meant to email and ask if you were up for yoga this Saturday still or not?

16 Sharla March 5, 2013 at 10:09 pm

We zip lined in North Carolina and loved it! Glad you had such a fabulous time. I love that dress in your dinner pic!

17 Katy March 5, 2013 at 10:54 pm

Zip lining sounds like so much fun! Unfortunately that’s one thing (along with a million others) that my boyfriend and I will never do together because he’s afraid of heights! I do want to try bungee jumping though.

18 Lauren March 5, 2013 at 10:57 pm

Ah, how wonderful! I did zip lining for the first time this past summer and loved it! You look stunning by the way..both of you! So glad you guys had a blast!

19 Linz @ Itz Linz March 6, 2013 at 7:59 am

21 Heather March 6, 2013 at 8:34 am

SO SO glad yall had a good time! Yay for cruising!

22 jobo March 6, 2013 at 9:58 am

You look WAY happier than I was ziplining! I was scared for my life with every zip – LOL. Never realized I had such terrible fear of heights! Yours looks so fun as does cave tubing!!! And I love that pic at the end of you two!!

23 Bethany @ Accidental Intentions March 6, 2013 at 9:58 am

Oh man, I want to go zip lining so bad! I’d be happy to take a zip lining opportunity anywhere, but zip lining through the jungle especially sounds SO cool!

24 Laura @ Mommy Run Fast March 6, 2013 at 10:09 am

Oh, wow- looks absolutely amazing! I’d love to do that someday… zip=lining, caves, such awesome memories for you two. Welcome back!

That sounds like the perfect day of vacation excursions to me. Floating miles down a river and relaxing after an adventurous zip-lining excursion sounds amazing. I went zip-lining one time at summer camp, but definitely nothing like this. One time I went on a cruise and took an “excursion” to a beach and the same thing happened with people constantly coming up asking if we wanted to buy stuff. At least the scenery looks beautiful!

26 Kelly @ Cupcake Kelly's March 6, 2013 at 2:08 pm

I’ve never been zip lining but I love cruising. Our honeymoon was my husbands first cruise and we made one of our excursions at a private beach. He asked what those people were and I said “crap sellers”, I usually just tune them out but I can see how they could get really annoying.
