1. I still know how to do the Macarena.

My mom found this singing turtle I used to have in my classroom when I taught Spanish. It sings the Macarena. And dances. It was a hit with my classes. It is also a huge hit now with Braedon. He drags that turtle around everywhere. I now have the Macarena song stuck in my head…and just may have busted out the moves a time or two as well. Braedon only gets as far as turning around in circles or dropping his hands on his knees and shaking his hips. I would really love to know where he learned that move.
2. Reading is by far the best way to pass time at the doctor’s office.

I hate the doctor. Especially the girly doctor. Then, they make you sit around forever in anticipation of the “fun” ahead. Thank goodness for good books! I’m starting up a new series quite a few people have recommended to me over the years – the Redemption series by Karen Kingsbury. So far, so good.
3. I don’t need stevia in my coffee.

I love my NuNaturals stevia packets and drops. I have quite the stash built up thanks to the awesome Mr. Rob from the company. That stash had me adding stevia to things unnecessarily and getting a bit too reliant on it for added sweetness or flavor. I’ve now successfully weaned myself off using it in quite a few things – including coffee. I’m back to loving it black or with just a splash of milk or cream. And, for what it’s worth, I have nothing against stevia…but just don’t like overusing it.
4. The first round of workouts for Best Body Bootcamp will make you sore.

And sweaty. Trial runs of these workouts always make me so excited. I have just as much fun with BBB as you all do!
5. Workouts aren’t the only thing that will make your muscles sore and tight.
My massage therapist has been working through some serious tightness issues in my right back and shoulder. All from typing! It makes for quite the painful deep muscle work. I’ll take it though since that tightness has apparently contributed to other misalignments and problems that ran all the way down my leg in the past. Tight back can lead to tight hips and so on. Dang kinetic chain.
What is something you realized this week? How do you take your coffee?

I SHOULD have brought my Nook with me to my 33-week checkup on Wednesday!! Of course, I didn’t know I was going to be there for MORE THAN AN HOUR (I’m not bitter or anything). Next time I know.
Yay for BBB workouts – I CAN’T wait!! And I especially can’t wait to do these workouts AFTER baby.
Lol to the Macarena. Really, can you ever forget things like that?
I never go to doctor visits without mine because they always end up taking longer than I expect. Ugh.
Soy creamer and stevia. I have a been bad stevia habit. I’m trying to wean myself off of it, but I’ve never liked black (or sweetener-less) coffee.
I usually add some splenda packets in my coffee but I don’t put milk or cream unless I go out to breakfast and get coffee.
It’s funny how things are all connected. When I started seeing my chiropractor, I was reminded how everything is connected…but more than just muscle or back pain, but our nervous system. Did you know misalignments in your spine can lead to stomach upset, asthma, anxiety, etc? Everything is connected!
Oh, definitely! It’s crazy how the body works.
ah i need a little something sweet in my coffee!!
I realised that taking rest and fueling my body correctly as well as staying super hydrated makes such a difference when it comes to working out and recovery
I think I knew the Macarena 15 years ago… Now there’s no way I could do it!
I drink my coffee black. Like my soul.
Come over and I’ll have B play the turtle for you. I bet it will all come rushing back.
And your coffee remark made me crack up. Your soul is NOT black! Unless you’re meaning in a bad ass way. Then, yes. Yes, it is.
Your Number One is the best of them all… only because it made me feel better about my ability to bust it out too.
I love the Redemption series! You will fall in love with the whole Baxter family!
I laughed out loud when I read #1. Gotta love it. I’m always impressed when I can still whip out some Electric Slide.
Hooray! SO looking forward to the Phase 1 workouts (and the other phases too, of course!)
Haha oh my goodness the Macarena! I remember dancing to that in my living room when I was younger, loved it! I’m new to the whole full-time job thing, but the more I sit in front of a computer all day long at a desk, the more scared I get that its going to cause problems in the long run. I use skim milk and stevia in my coffee, I can’t do it black.
yayy I can’t wait for BBB!! Black is the best way to drink coffee
Ahhhh! The girly doctor! I’m putting off seeing her right now because I’m more than a little phobic, but knowing that you make sure to go inspires me.
I’ll have to check out the Redemption Series. Also, The Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers is amazing. Have a great weekend!
The thing that I hate about going to the doctor is that they’re never on time – so you have to wait even longer. Last time I went I had to wait 20 minutes after my scheduled time before they finally called me it. People being late drives me crazy.
My chiropractor told me sitting all day seriously reverses all the stretching I do! AHH. And I can’t wait for bootcamp!
I have made a point to sit as little as possible since a lot of my issues deal with tight hips and a tight psoas muscle. That muscle is such a pain for me! It never releeases!
Oh man…I still haven’t signed up for bootcamp and that picture isn’t helping matters!
Haha.
I’m sure sitting at a desk/computer all day wrecks some serious havoc on my body. I really wish there were a way I could avoid it!
we take our coffee black
reading at doctors offices is the best way to catch up
Have a great Friday!
That picture of you is great! Makes me seriously want to try out BBB. I usually take my coffee with coconut milk creamer and stevia. I trying to use Stevia sparingly because the creamer itself is pretty sweet, but I usually care some in my purse for when I get coffee on the go.
I still need to try coconut milk creamer. Sounds sooooo good!
I don’t put any sweetener in my coffee – I realized I didn’t need it! A little almond milk (unsweetened vanilla or chocolate are my faves!) and I’m good to go. I used to think it needed sweetness but it doesn’t…or my tastebuds changes. Smart idea on the Kindle at the girly doc (LOL love that moniker!), I should do that next time! hate waiting!
And I seriously considered keeping my Nook out to read while having to do the whole stirrup part. haha!
Looking forward to the next round of BBB! I too have been using too much stevia and am trying to cut down, mainly to become accustomed to reducing sugar in my diet. I have such a sweet tooth!
I don’t drink coffee but drink tea daily. My guilty pleasure is a hot black tea latte with creamer and toffee flavored stevia and some cinnamon sprinkled on top….so good!
That’s me. Such a sweet tooth. But I knew I was becoming too reliant. I was even adding it to oatmeal at a point which was just silly to me.
I’ve always had pain in my neck and right shoulder from an accident, but sitting and typing make it so. much. worse. I have ordered a stand up desk for work and am so excited!!! I think it will really alleviate a lot of that pressure.
I never go to an appointment without my Nook – usually I don’t even mind waiting a little because it is extra reading time.
This week I learned that even though I hate the cold, it isn’t as bad if you have someone else out there with you while you walk or run!
On Monday I waited 2 1/2 hours for a Dr. appointment! MORE than frustrating, but I would have died without my book . . .
No sweetener for my coffee but can’t seem to wean myself off the splash of half and half.
I still do the splash of almond milk or cream most days. It does make it so much better. And 2 1/2 hours? Oh my gosh! That is craziness.
LOVE my Nook!!! I always have it with me especiallyl Dr’s appts. I put Stevia & a little cream in my coffee.
Yea for no stevia! That’s a big change isn’t it? A few years ago I cut out sweet n’ low & was so proud of myself for doing it. Now I just do a splash of coconut milk in my coffee. And AMEN to massages making you sore, I got one about a month ago & my upper back was ridiculously sore for days! Hurts so good
I’m so glad you are starting the Redemption series! The best series of books I’ve ever read and I still think about them years later. Ashley is by far my favorite character and I kind of feel like we are friends
Have a wonderful weekend!
Glad to know you loved the books so much. I’ve heard the same sort of reaction from many people so I’m excited to read them!
Um, I’m a little nervous about Best Body Bootcamp now that I see how much it made you sweat!!
Only kidding. I know it will be super-challenging, but that’s why it’s so effective. Can’t wait to get started!
I’ve been working on my posture while typing lately, realizing how easy it is for me to slouch at the computer. It’s crazy how all things are connected on our body, huh? Enjoy your weekend, Tina!
I take my coffee black! I stopped adding half and half or heavy cream about a month ago, and now I actually prefer it black.
Ohhh th macarena. Brings me back to summer of…what, 1995? I know I was young! haha
Yea, I think it was that long ago. Almost 20 years? I can hardly believe it!
I agree- everything in moderation, even stevia.
