Oh, man. This week is already a doozy. The kids have been sick. I haven’t been feeling too well lately. It’s still been good, though, with the kick off of Best Body Bootcamp registration. Plus, it’s my birthday on Friday. Hopefully all the summer colds will evacuate by then, along with whatever zilch energy funk I’m currently feeling. I’m just SO tired, despite making a point to get enough sleep. My daily
lifeline cup of coffee isn’t even doing it lately.
And it sure doesn’t help that the weather has looked like this for the past ten days straight…
Gloomy, grey, dreary does nothing to motivate me.
What else has been going on? Not too terribly much. Let’s see in this week’s “Life Lately” edition.
I went to the eye doctor to get a regular exam and to talk about all the issues I have had with my eyes lately. They are seriously fighting contacts still…since January. I had zero problems for fifteen years and then suddenly my eyes are in constant revolt. I thought maybe my old contacts getting updated had been the issue and so am trying out a new brand – Acuvue Oasys. Still eye pain. Sigh. I need Lasik.
I’ve been doing workouts regularly, of course. My main workouts lately have been some final run-throughs of the next #bestbodybootcamp workouts.
I always check and double check them to make sure they flow together fairly well, are just the right amount of challenge (with loads of options), and add a little fun to working out. The next round has some good ones! Did you join yet?
Probably the best activity of late was this past weekend when I had a date with Makenzie.
I’ve mentioned before how one day a month, Peter and I have started a little tradition of dates with the kids. This month it was my turn to go on a date with Makenzie, while Peter bonded with Braedon. I knew just what to do with my little girl – her very first theater movie. I still remember mine – The Little Mermaid – and how excited I was. It remains my favorite Disney movie to this day.
We saw Despicable Me 2. She has wanted to watch the original Despicable Me over and over lately, so I thought it was a good choice. She loved it…and I did too. I’m a sucker for kid movies and found this one pretty funny and cute.
What else? What else? Oh! I discovered the site Momables when trying to figure out some new things to do for the kids at lunch.
Was I living under a rock? Maybe, but I’m just glad to have discovered this site now. So many cute ideas! I made the homemade chicken nuggets on Monday and the kids gobbled them up. So easy, too! Had to share just in case any other moms out there could use the site.
Well, gotta run! I woke up late this morning and that’s never a good start to the day. Catch you soon!
Your Turn – What was the first movie you ever saw in theaters? What’s “life lately” for you?
