As my Facebook pals know, yesterday started a little something like this:
Apparently a jolly little virus wants to play Santa and visit everyone with his little presents. Too bad that he missed the memo that time in the bathroom, holding back your daughter’s hair over a bucket, and changing diaper after diaper does not bring joy. I needed to find some joy.
Which I did thanks to Julie! She posted this video of giving gag gifts to kids from Jimmy Kimel.

Some of the reactions are cute and hilarious…some make you say “WOAH, kid!”. And it all makes me want to pull that stunt on Makenzie. Bad mom? Or fun mom? Whichever it is, it for sure gave me entertainment as I got distracted on the internet looking for funny gifts.
I was directed to the site Taylor Gifts, which Courtney has talked about before, and with good reason! Hilarious stuff! How do you think Makenzie would react if she opened up a farting Santa for her Christmas present??

Who am I kidding? She would love it! But probably not the bacon toothpaste.

While the site did have a lot of fun gag gifts (which I wish I knew about before the White Elephant gift exchange last weekend!), it also has some other more practical and cute stuff too.
I wouldn’t mind having this runner’s coffee mug…

…these wall stickers to decorate Makenzie’s room…

…and this nativity scene that reminds me of the one my grandparents used to set up every year.

Or this because it made me laugh out loud.

I am well aware I have a lame sense of humor and even more so when not feeling well. And why is it so easy to get sucked in to the internet? Oh, well. It’s the right thing to do when you need to rest but can’t sleep because lying down makes your head spin. You would have thought I had carted a few of these around with me all day…

If I had known about disposable flasks back in my football tailgating days…it would have been trouble. Ahem.
Okay, okay! I’m done now! Do you now see why I avoid Pinterest? I would get SUCKED IN with NO ESCAPE! Look at how addicted I got to a simple (and fun) gifts website! At least it gives you something to do on a Friday when you can’t bear to work another minute because Christmas is almost here and you’re ready for your time off. Or because you could use some gift ideas (both gag and non-gag). Feel free to return the favor…
What’s the last thing that sucked you in on the internet?

Mother. Wife. Personal Trainer. Exercise lover. Blogger. Woman of faith. Striving for fitness inside and out.

i have to REALLY limit my pinterest time…it’s so dangerous! but twitter convos always get me sucked in
That video is hilarious! Haha
I NEED that Santa doll! LOL!
Pineterest is the last thing that sucked me in… it’s so useful though!
Pinterest can be such a time-suck, but I still love it. Twitter seems to pull more of my time than that though – wow I can waste some time there.
I can’t bear to work another minute and there’s another whole week of it left!
Thank the lord it’s almost the weekend! I’ve looked on Pinterest… maybe I shouldn’t!
And this is EXACTLY why I refuse to join Pinterest, I KNOW I’ll become addicted!!! PS I hope you feel better my friend! xo
I am seriously thisclose to being sucked into Pinterest. Must.Resist.Pinterest!
ahahahaha i MUST have that pillow!
I love the video…lol…classic. I think I just woke the hwole house up by laughing,
I am addicted to pintrest, I could look at it all day!
Haha! That video. I kind of want to spank that kid in the red striped sweater!
Also, I only let myself get on pinterest once a week…otherwise, it’s all over.
Bacon toothpaste ? Yuck. I love brushing my teeth and do not like bacon so that would be the worst for me! Lol
That farting Santa is hilarious! I think you should definitely get it. That nativity scene looks just like the one we put up at my parents’ house every year! I hope you get to feeling better soon Tina!
Haha, that one kid looks exactly like Manny from Modern Family.
Pinterest actually isn’t too much of a time suck for me. I basically just use it as a place to store recipes for the most part.
That’s what I thought too!
I want bacon flavored toothpaste! That would make me excited to brush my teeth in the morning!
so i kinda want to try that toothpaste now, is that wrong? haha. THe mugs are adorable!
Pinterest is blocked at my work, as is Facebook, Youtube, and basically every other time-suck out there. Except blogs- oh man, I get way too sucked into blog reading!
Me too Lauren, me too!! I’m just waiting for the day the block blogs at work. Then I will have to quit. Hee, kidding.
Or…are you???
hehehe
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear you are sick. It seems like that stomach bug is making the rounds EVERYWHERE. Eek!
That video cracked me up!! That was perfect for this afternoon because I am feeling exactly like how you said it above – “can’t bear to work another minute because Christmas is almost here and you’re ready for your time off” Amen sista!!!
I haven’t bought ONE Christmas gift!!! Freak out time!!
I finally gave into Pinterest but I’m glad I did, it’s come in really handy to sort recipes and craft ideas, but I definitely have to exercise restraint. I don’t spend a lot of time looking at other people’s pins, I mainly just use it to pin the things I want to keep track of and move on. Working so far, check back with me in a couple weeks!
Hope you guys feel better soon!
I actually bought a few of those clear flasks for a cruise I’m going on in January. They are called Rum Runners…they are gonna be trouble
I wish I had them in my college years too!
Oh, genius way to stash for a cruise! They charge an arm and a leg otherwise.
So much good stuff! I keep finding clothes and jewelry I want on Pinterest, and sometimes looking at all the yummy food makes me hungry! I guess I need to shy away from it too.
That video is so funny! I so want to do that to my 4 yr old stepson!
I had a christmas tree like that santa that had bells on it, and when you turned it on it shook and played music! cute for about 15 seconds…
That video was really funny! Thanks for the entertainment. That farting Santa is hilarious too!
Oh my gosh, that little girl with the half eaten sandwich was ADORABLE. Some of those kids, though – yeesh! Was I ever like that?! Eek. Definitely gives me pause about what children think Christmas is all about!
Pinterest might be a time-suck…but that doesn’t make me love it any less!
Haha, I know what you mean! It’s hard not to though! For me, I’ve just replaced Facebook with Pinterest! Might be good, maybe not!
Fun post!
I ran a 5k on Sunday with a friend who was running his first race with a prothesis after losing his leg (below the knee) in a motorcycle accident 18 months ago.
He wore a shirt like your gingerbread “oh, snap” pillow… I love his sense of humor!
I love his sense of humor too. Have to make light of life and keep it fun. Go him! And you too for supporting him like that.
Blah! I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well!
Pinning is so fun though! and such good ideas! Hope you’re feeling better my dear! xoxo
Please get well soon! I hope you feel better and the kids also.
Thanks for sharing the gag gifts–made me chuckle too and I might have to go in search of more. I can think of some prime recipients for bacon toothpaste and farting santas…
love
Ela
Thanks, Ela! It was pretty low key and we were all feeling better by yesterday afternoon. Perfect timing too for party prep. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
PINTEREST! But, I have found so many fun things on there. But, once I log on, it’s a time suck for sure.
OMG…You are so sweet Tina! Thanks so much for featuring my lil ole blog!

I only had time to read 3 blogs tonight…as NYC is SO much fun…and I have to say – you just made my vacation night in NY even better girl!
I hope you feel better soon…and bacon flavored toothpaste?!? wow sounds gross!
xoxo much love from the big apple
Awww, I hope you guys are feeling better!
I saw that Jimmy Kimmel video the other night – so funny! My favorite was the little girl with the half eaten PB sandwich… “I like when you make real dinners, like hot pockets…”
I just ordered something from Cafe Press and succumbed to the special offer to add a gingerbread “Oh Snap!” t-shirt to my order for $7.
My husband would probably dig the bacon flavored toothpaste.
