Friday Five 12-13

  1. When Peter went grocery shopping last week he said he would pick me up some new holiday flavors coffee. He came home with SEVEN different kinds. I had to break into the White Chocolate Chunk holiday coffee flavor first. And it did not disappoint. Perfect way to start the day.
  2. The gym hasn’t been too desirable to me lately. I only seem to care to go to the yoga studio and then complete any other workouts at home. I did a couple at-home strength workouts this week alongside my now expanded yoga schedule.
  3. Thank you all for the support on Wednesday when I announced going after my new goal!! I received all of my study texts in the mail that same day. Time to get reading!
  4. Yesterday morning was Makenzie’s school Christmas program. I think seeing all the adorableness of the costumes and songs makes those hard parenting days all so worth it.
  5. It’s been a few months, but Peter and I finally got a date night on Saturday night. We hit up dinner for burgers at Ted’s Montana Grill and then caught Catching Fire. Have you seen it?

FIVE LINKS TO CHECK OUT

  1. Looking ahead for after the holidays and already thinking you could use a HEALTHY and BALANCED post-holiday detox? If so, then check out Laura’s Post-Holiday Detox. And pssstt….use the code earlybird for $10 off. Winking smile
  2. Do you think adult peer pressure exists? Carla shares some thoughts on handling it.
  3. Why do you workout? No, really. Why? Paige gets at the heart of the matter when she asks What’s Your Training Reason? A good thing to think about.
  4. Do you ever desire to just go Back To Basics With Your Workouts? Katie does, too. She discusses it in her post and how the desire to not have any big goals for a time and just work out for the enjoyment of working out can do us some good.
  5. And if you need some ideas for fun workouts to do for the enjoyment of working out, then look no further than this compilation of 50 Circuit Workouts that Lindsay put together!

FIVE RANDOM/FUN FACTS

  1. Tonight I have plans to go to a Christmas concert at our church. I am SO excited! North Point puts on a pretty spectacular show. Let’s put it this way – they sold out FAST for four shows with over 10,000 people attending tonight. You can watch online tonight if interested.
  2. I realized Christmas is just under 2 weeks away and I have finished shopping. I think this is a new record. Although, don’t be too impressed. We only buy for kids in both sides of our families so I had to buy, like, toys for 5 people. Not too hard to do.
  3. We do make tins full of different Christmas cookies to give to everyone, though. I guess I need to get on deciding which ones to make this year. Any suggestions?
  4. I’m not a huge supplements person at all, but I started to recently take some glucosamine as suggested by my sports doctor for joint health. Probably a placebo affect, but I do feel a difference!
  5. I have a really hard time coming up with facts. Ha! How’s that for a fact for ya? I think of things during the week to put down, but then forget when Friday morning rolls around. Whoops.

Christmas is less than two weeks away and I haven’t even started shopping! YIKES. I’ve seen Catching Fire, and I loved it! But I am not a very judgmental movie critic, haha. I’ve been searching for cookie recipes as well! I have to come up with my list by Tuesday. I would suggest making mint chocolate chip cookies!

Oh man, the fact that there’s 12 days until Christmas stresses me out a bit! We are leaving for the holiday, though.
Thank you for including my post! :)

I’m so impressed that you’ve finished all of your Christmas shopping!!! I’m not even remotely close to being done. Whoops!

I saw Catching Fire a few weeks ago (actually, the Saturday after it came out I think – theater was PACKED) and I loved it! Even though I knew exactly what was going to happen, I still felt myself drawn in and kind of on the edge of my seat. Plus I’m 100% Team Peeta and I just love how adorable he is haha

Thanks for including me! I’m with you on supplements. I’m not into them regularly but glucosamine is one that I’ve thought about taking.
