Friday Five

by tinareale on January 10, 2014

  1. Braedon turns THREE tomorrow! I am having a hard time believing this. Wasn’t it just three weeks and not three years ago that I took an ice storm ambulance ride to the hospital? I thought so, too. Who remembers that fun?!
  2. It’s Braedon’s birthday…and I’ll be away for a yoga training weekend. Unfortunately, one of the teacher training weekends fell on this weekend. I get done at 4 pm on Saturday, so we have plans to let the big guy pick out a special place for dinner that night. I have a sneaking suspicion he’s going to pick Chick Fil A. Kids and their chicken nuggets…and free ice cream.
  3. I just tried this past week and can’t believe how much it has cut down my email. Basically you unsubscribe from junk emails all in one shot and then combine the subscription emails you want to keep into one daily email. Completely worth it for your out of control email.
  4. Last night for dinner I had one of the best sandwich combos – turkey, bacon, ranch, and avocado. It was sooooo good. Paired it with a small salad for a perfect dinner.
  5. And, finally, the giveaway winners for the Gymboss Timers! Congratulations! I have emailed you to get your information and to claim your prize.

Friday Five 1-10

  1. I have the silliest little guy. One day, while hanging out at home together, he decided he wanted to take a picture. We took the picture on the left, but he determined it wasn’t good enough. In the next one, he grabbed me super tight, screamed CHEESE, and then said “that’s better” when he saw it. Such a sweetheart. And goofball.
  2. I am a lover of coffee. I used to have two cups in the morning and perhaps a cup in the afternoon. I’ve managed over recent months to cut it down to just one cup in the morning, but this past week had a couple days that called for two. I blame the cold and I’m not worried about it one bit.
  3. For awhile there we were unsure if our master bath tub had a leak. It bummed me out because a) epsom salt baths rock! and b) a beautiful tub like that can’t just sit there. We determined the tub didn’t have a leak, though, so you better believe a bath was on tap (ha!) sometime this week. I already can’t wait for my next one.
  4. Another thing that made a reappearance in my life this past week? Spin class. I haven’t been in almost three months, but had the urge to go Wednesday morning. It was fun…but I’m not sure how much I will keep going. It just eats up so much of the time the kids are in school when I need to get other stuff done. I’m liking my at home strength sessions and using my available time to hit up as much yoga as possible instead.
  5. This. This is one of my greatest pet peeves. Can we not wait for the proper time to bring out new holiday items anymore? C’mon Kroger. It hasn’t even been Valentine’s Day yet!!!

  4. I loved this post from Mindy about all the possibility that lies in our moments of discomfort. Do you agree that It’s Okay To Be Uncomfortable?

Love this post! So much I could comment on! Firstly, I could not agree more with the easter candy! I was in the supermarket at home (in England) within a few days of Christmas and they already had it out! My reaction was pretty much the same as yours! Its ridiculous! Cant wait to check out your links you have put up, especially the 9 things to stop doing! Thanks for sharing :)

Happy happy birthday to Braedon! I hope he has an amazing day celebrating! :)

Oh, and I saw the Jennifer + Miley photo early this week and was literally laughing out loud! So so funny!

Oh yikes! I didn’t know about the ambulance ride through an ice storm for his birth… memories!! I was scared that would be the case for L (due in January) but it was a clear day, thankfully. I finally made it back to spin class this week for the first time in awhile, too!

Happy Birthday to Braedon! I remember you announcing you were pregnant!

So I tried recently and I’m still getting some of the emails that I un-subscribed from! Not all of them, but definitely some.

Oh how fun to read through. Have a fabulous weekend. And that sandwich, yum.

Great links! Thanks so much for sharing. It seems like they start selling items for the upcoming holiday sooner and sooner every year.. It’s literally like a day after one passes they have to start marketing for the next one.. It kind of takes the fun out of it!

Happy Birthday to the little man!! :)

Happy Belated Birthday to Braedon! I can’t believe how grown up he’s looking these days! Thanks so much for sharing my salad jar recipes. I have heard of recently and have been meaning to check it out…… that’s where I’m off to next! :) Hope you had a great weekend, Tina!

Just had to comment that I remember reading Braedon’s birth story at the time and cannot believe it was three years ago! I’m sure it feels like time flew even faster for you. Happiest of birthdays to the adorable little man!

I just tried Unroll Me – thank you for the suggestion! What an awesome tool.
