I’m going to the doctor this morning for a follow up appointment for blood work and to have her help me with my itching. I foresee a scabies diagnosis….which freaks me the heck out. Ick. Ick. Ick. And not really the way to kick off fun fact Friday, huh?
How about this instead? A couple nights ago Peter, the kids, and I headed out for a new Christmas tradition.
A community of houses in our area joined forces to put together a light show for people to drive through for free.
The lights even dance to music broadcast for the neighborhood. It’s getting to watch tacky displays like this live. So much better than the $70/car visit to Lake Lanier Nights of Lights.
Tomorrow I will go to spin class in the morning, then come home and have a baking extravaganza. Instead of giving traditional grifts to family this year, we’re giving some treats with a card letting our loved ones know of a donation in their names to our church’s From Hunger To Hope mission to help feed starving children. Part of that baking will include more of these.
Braedon is walking now. Well, walking while holding onto my finger. Either way, this can’t be happening.
I’m watching Criminal Minds as I type this. This show has sucked me in. Although, I wasn’t a fan of the episode with the man finding his victims through blogging and social media. A bit unnerving.
Last night I made two dinners to bring to two friends that recently had babies. Prepping two meals is my max because I had to pit stop at Subway on the way home. It was a good decision.
Just like adding a bunch of jalapenos was a good decision. Why haven’t I always done this?

I love Subway so much, but it’s mostly because of their cookies.
They do have dang good cookies! We always fill out the survey with the receipt bec it gives a free cookie coupon code for your next visit. I forgot this time though! Bummer because I was eyeing the raspberry cheesecake one.
That saying reminds me of a wedding invitation we received earlier this year to ask for “our presents on this special day”. No joke, it really went to print like that.

Yes! Meals ready to eat or just pop in the oven are a lifesaver as a new mom. Always the best gift imo.

Have you heard of the Advent Conspiracy? What you’re doing for Christmas is pretty much right on board with it, and I really respect you for what you’re doing. The promo video really affected me but I wasn’t sure how to put it into practice without seeming like I was just trying to get out of buying people presents. I mean, obviously Christmas is not about tangible gifts, but when everyone else is getting everyone else “real” presents, it’s hard to not feel bad for getting them real gifts, too. Instead I made sure almost all of my Christmas gifts were fair trade, which, while not the same as donating money to a cause, is at least a step in the right direction. Advent Conspiracy is actually what triggered this new approach to gifts. I love the mentality of it and that our church is doing it this year.
What a cute tradition to start! I remember loving to go look at decorated neighborhoods when I was a kid and I love sharing that with my little guy too.
