As you may imagine, this past weekend was fairly consumed with family and celebration – with no time to blog. As it should have been. So let me fill you in a bit in a quick and easy fashion… in ”Weekend Countdown” fashion.
5 Things Baked This Weekend
All day Saturday revolved around the oven, sugar, and butter. I spent 6 hours straight in the kitchen prepping up sweet stuff to give as gifts the next day, have for breakfast Christmas morning, and bring to share with family.
- Cinnamon Rolls from scratch! – which turned out beautifully (despite the unattractive snapshots)
I used the Pioneer Woman’s dough recipe (1/4 of the recipe) and Cat’s recipe for filling and icing
- Brittany’s Cream Cheese Thumbprints
- Courtney’s Black & White Peppermint Cookies
- a LEMON (soooooo amazing) version of her Gooey Butter Cookies
- more Santa Baby whoopie pies
4 Favorite Pictures
3 Christmases in One Day
- morning for Santa and gifts with my parents, brother, and sister
- lunch with my extended side of the family
- dinner with Peter’s family
Even better???? …
2 Sick Kids
It was a lonnnnngggggg day. I hate seeing them both SO sick. Especially on Christmas!
1 Plate of Delicious Food (the only plate I got to sit for…don’t worry…I still munched plenty!)
Hope yours was just as merry! Time to head to spin then cuddle my family. Organizing toys can wait.
How did you enjoy yourself this weekend?

Looks like a really fun Christmas weekend for you. I hope the kids will feel better soon!
As my family doesn’t celebrate a traditional Christmas, we just enjoyed being really lazy. But we also made some great (Asian) food. And cookies, of course.
Aw, sick on Christmas…poor things! Glad you had a good Christmas despite the colds!

looks like a great weekend!! (other than the sick kids – i’m so sorry!) i also used the Pioneer Woman’s cinnamon roll recipe! i had never made homemade cinnamon rolls before so i was a little intimidated but i found them surprisingly pretty easy! just kinda time consuming!
Same here. They weren’t that bad at all to make..but yea, pretty time consuming. Thankfully we did ours a day in advance so they were ready to bake Christmas morning.
Love the pictures! sad that the kids were sick, but they seemed to enjoy it anyway. I want to dive into those cinnamon rolls!
Organizing toys can wait = AMEN!! There’s about to be an avalanche over here.
Awww — your poor babies
Hope you had a wonderful day regardless (and that they feel better soon)– a belated Merry Christmas to you!
oh no, poor kiddos! Poor momma! Hope they are feeling better today friend. Merry late Christmas.
<3
Ah…poor babies! Hope they get better soon. M is mighty cute in her princess dress though
She is in LOVE with that dress. I foresee her not ever wanting to take it off.
Poor M and B! Little red noses…hope they feel better soon! Merry Christmas
Did Makenzie get a stationary bike for Christmas?? That has got to be the most epic toy EVER (if it is what it looks like haha. Even if it’s not it still looks sweet).
Hope the kids are feeling better! Being sick on Christmas is miserable. Been there, done that, never ever want to do it again
It’s called a Smart Cycle. It’s a little bike that connects to the TV with a game that goes over letters, numbers, and other educational things. She has to ride to do the game. So activity, education, and games that kids love all in one. Someone from her school just GAVE it to us. Santa does exist! Haha!
Merry Christmas Tina! It sounds like you had a great time celebrating with your immediate and extended families! I love that little bike for Makenzie- very cool!
Oh no, I’m so sorry they were sick on Christmas! I’m glad you had a great time with your family overall though.
wishing you and your family the merriest of christmases and happy new year Tina! xoxo
Aww, looks like you had a nice weekend
Sorry about the sick kids! I know it’s been a few days but I hope they are feeling better.
Oh, and that thing Mackenzie is on looks like a child size toy spin bike. Maybe it’s supposed to be something from a cartoon or a kid thing, I don’t have kids so I wouldn’t know, or either I just work out way too much, haha, but that’s what it resembles to me
.
Those cinnamon rolls look delish to me, I don’t care how something looks so much, if it tastes good it tastes good!
