I had one of those weekends where everything should add up to a revitalizing new start to the week.
Saturday morning started with a successful long run.
Speaking of – did you catch my new weekly feature recapping and sharing my own workouts? Lots of good ones this past week, including a quick and fun upper body circuit workout!
After my run, I showered myself up and got ready to have lunch with my friend, Laura.
We sat and chatted for a good while about all sorts of things from babies to work to cute grandparents.
We also ate at one of my favorite places.
Cheeky redeemed itself a bit from my last visit. I loved the grilled veggie, crab cake, and jalapeno BLT tacos I ordered. I ate every bite and then immediately came home and snacked on Love Grown granola. That long run hunger was speaking to me.
I had time the remainder of the day to play with the kids and relax with a book. We didn’t have to rush off anywhere that night and I spent it snuggled up on the couch with pizza and a movie night with Peter.

With a Blue Moon and rocking the compression tights for recovery. Don’t we all? No? Well, I know I looked cool.
Sunday was filled with church – including a great sermon and starting up a new group study that already has me inspired. And we can’t forget the morning round of kiss blowing.
It all added up to everything that should leave me refreshed and smiling.
On the flip side, I have a headache that hasn’t left me since my shower on Saturday morning. And I have spend the past few days unbearably cold and tired, despite getting what should be enough sleep. So far, I’m feeling that way again today. It helps knowing that I have started taking steps to help these occasional days of extreme fatigue. That knowledge also helps me truly make the best of things and let the energy of a few really good days drive me forward. And perhaps a nap. Or two cups of coffee instead of one. We’ll see where the day brings me. Hope you have a good Monday, friends!
Pick one word for how you are feeling this morning? I’m still going with “revitalized”.

Woo sounds like a great weekend! I woke up feeling SO refreshed…it’s almost the end of the work day here and I am pooped ha!
Compression tights…those have been on my mind lately! This morning I’m feeling ready…to tackle the week
Love that video – too cute. Do you think the headache might be dehydration? Sometimes that happens to me after longer runs!
Sounds like a good weekend, minus the headache and fatigue! I hope that gets better asap! This morning I’m feeling a bit ansy (sp?) because I have my first pediatrics class and I’ve heard mixed things about the professor…crossing my fingers!
Hope class went well!
Long runs always made me crazy hungry for the rest of the day, and I only trained for and ran a half. I could imagine long runs and training for a full would be much crazier with making someone hungry! Really glad you got to spend time with your friends and family this weekend, that’s always fun- and your tacos look delish!
I’m feeling motivated today. Something about Mondays makes me feel good. It’s like a clean slate for a new week and I almost always feel good energy on Monday. Sometimes it’s gone by Tuesday, though.
whoop! Great lunch, fab run, time with family? Wonderful. That video is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute!
the kiss-blowing is the cutest ever!
this morning? i’m feeling run-down, but hopeful…that’s two words, but i figure that’s OK
This morning I’m feeling confident.
*the video is adorable-he’s getting so big!
LOVE that kind of weekend. I find the ones where I get the least done on my to do list but spend the most time with people I love or doing things I really enjoy are the most refreshing and then I can go into a week with a better attitude and energy level to tackle things. I had a lot of social time and spent a lot of time in the pool/at yoga, so I feel recharged in the physical sense! I am aiming for a productive week so I hope I can prove my own theory!
This morning I am feeling a little discouraged but only a little. It’s okay, it’s only Monday….things are bound to shape up!
Have a good week sweetie!
I’m sorry you’re not feeling well
An extra cup of coffee usually does the trick though!
Hmm..I guess I’m feeling uneasy? I spent the weekend at a social justice retreat engaging in a LOT of heavy discussions and am still processing everything.
i’m so glad you had such a great weekend – it sounds perfect to me!
those tacos intrigue me! they sound different and unique but SO good!
i’m feeling… TIRED this morning! i slept like poop last night for whatever reason. oh well, hopefully my workout will kick me into gear!
Do you find that the compression tights really help? I still haven’t bought any but really want to try them.
I really think they do. I’ve noticed a difference. I actually found mine for WAY cheaper on Amazon bec it was a style/version being discontinued or updated or whatever. Love deals!
Those taco’s look amazing! Cute vid
Yup – post-run beers are great for recovery.
Love all your running gear. I look so uncoordinated with my mismatch of random garments. haha
I feel energized this morning. It was an awesome weekend of catching up with my husband and family after a week away for work and it was SO needed. I even got some cuddle time with my niece who blew me kisses as we left the house, I could see her in the window – seriously melted my heart like nothing else.
I love your babies! They are so adorable.
Those are some super sexy compression tight
Do you like them? I think I need some (or maybe just WANT).
Sorry about the headache
Today I’m feeling excited — it’s a race week!
I really think they help. I’ve noticed a difference when wearing them. I luckily found some for a good price on Amazon. They were a style being discontinued or updated or something.
I had a headache from Saturday morning to Sunday night last weekend and it freaked me out. It was the first time I’ve ever had a headache last that long and I was convinced there was something legit wrong with me! haha. Hope yours goes away soon. Headaches can be so debilitating.
My word is inspired. After 4 days off due to a pesky cold, I’m inspired to get back on track!
Those tacos make me want some mexican food at 1030 am. I have been craving mexican a lot lately! Maybe because i can’t eat tomatoes or spicy things because of the baby, my body is craving what it cant have! but i could improvise and do fish or crab cake tacos i think, yummm!
Sounds like a great weekend! Those tacos look delish and are making me hungry for lunch already.
Sorry about the weekend long headache :-/ I get migraines and after I have one I have a dull headache for days, it’s not fun so I feel your pain. I hope your day gets better!
Chin up buttercup! Those lingering headaches are the pits. I hope it goes away soon!
Oh my gosh, TOO precious. I’ve had a headache all weekend too. I think I’m coming down with something. A second cup of coffee will definitely be needed today. I hope you feel better!
I get headaches sometimes after long runs, usually because I didn’t drink enough during the run. Maybe that’s it? Also, I never thought to wear my compression tights after a long run… this is genius. I just bought them to run in cold weather!
We had tornado watches and warnings last night (which I can easily sleep through, but Daniel’s fire dept radio goes off with each warning update), so I could not get to sleep until around 1 a.m. When my alarm went off at 4:50 all I wanted to do was wrap up in my blankets and sleep about three more hours. I’m going to go with “excited but a little tired” for my words today. Excited because it’s still going to be a great week!
Long run and a Blue Moon make for a great weekend! But I might join you in the extra cup of coffee. Despite my 8 hours of sleep last night, I’m dragging today. Guess my wild Saturday night is still lingering…
My word for the day is: DETERMINED!
This week is going to be great because I said so
What a nice sounding weekend! I love the saying at the end, it’s so perfect!
sounds like an awesome weekend! I LOVE revitalizing weekends!! and LOVE that video of B! That is so freaking adorable! (I hope your headache goes away! eesh.)
Headache aside, your weekend sounds lovely! I’m so excited to be training for something again and getting in long runs and I’m sure you agree – this is why I love the blog world; we can talk about how much we love long runs and wearing compression socks on Saturday nights and feel normal!
And all is right with the world when you get those sweet kisses! Adorable! God’s love is so abundant!
What an awesome weekend! I am glad you had a good one. I’ve never had Cheeky before! Must try it. Also… blue moon is one of my favorite beers! Have you tried 5 season’s version? Visla I think is what they call it. So tasty! I had one ( OK, two) last night. For my word, I’m going to say “motivated”! Even though I woke up on the tired side this morning and was feeling pretty rushed to get out of the house on time, I am ready to check everything off my list this week! It is really helping with training to have a set plan each week of exactly what I’m going to do.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that video! So cute!
And I love Blue Moon.
We had a pretty relaxing weekend at our house. Gearing up for another week!
Sounds like a great weekend, minus the headache
Hope you’re having a great day!!!
Hope your headache has gone away!
I think my word for this morning was: ready. I was ready to get up early, get my workout in and face the day. Sometimes it can be hard to feel ready for a Monday.
The video of the kiddos is ADORABLE! Hope you feel better soon (actually, hope you are feeling better already!).
A little too late for this morrning, but I guess my word will be hope…a lot of things that I have been dreading in this work week, but I will hope for the best possible outcome!
Well, you wrote this yesterday so my word for yesterday was nervous. But today it is not-so-nervous, which in my mind is also one word!
