Revitalizing

by tinareale on January 23, 2012

I had one of those weekends where everything should add up to a revitalizing new start to the week.

Saturday morning started with a successful long run.

IMGP3300-1

Speaking of – did you catch my new weekly feature recapping and sharing my own workouts? Lots of good ones this past week, including a quick and fun upper body circuit workout!

After my run, I showered myself up and got ready to have lunch with my friend, Laura.

IMGP3305-1

We sat and chatted for a good while about all sorts of things from babies to work to cute grandparents.

We also ate at one of my favorite places.

IMGP3304-1

Cheeky redeemed itself a bit from my last visit. I loved the grilled veggie, crab cake, and jalapeno BLT tacos I ordered. I ate every bite and then immediately came home and snacked on Love Grown granola. That long run hunger was speaking to me.

I had time the remainder of the day to play with the kids and relax with a book. We didn’t have to rush off anywhere that night and I spent it snuggled up on the couch with pizza and a movie night with Peter.

With a Blue Moon and rocking the compression tights for recovery. Don’t we all? No? Well, I know I looked cool.

Sunday was filled with church – including a great sermon and starting up a new group study that already has me inspired. And we can’t forget the morning round of kiss blowing.

B and M blow kisses with Daddy.

It all added up to everything that should leave me refreshed and smiling.

On the flip side, I have a headache that hasn’t left me since my shower on Saturday morning. And I have spend the past few days unbearably cold and tired, despite getting what should be enough sleep. So far, I’m feeling that way again today. It helps knowing that I have started taking steps to help these occasional days of extreme fatigue. That knowledge also helps me truly make the best of things and let the energy of a few really good days drive me forward. And perhaps a nap. Or two cups of coffee instead of one. We’ll see where the day brings me. Hope you have a good Monday, friends!

Pick one word for how you are feeling this morning? I’m still going with “revitalized”.

Love that video – too cute. Do you think the headache might be dehydration? Sometimes that happens to me after longer runs!

Sounds like a good weekend, minus the headache and fatigue! I hope that gets better asap! This morning I’m feeling a bit ansy (sp?) because I have my first pediatrics class and I’ve heard mixed things about the professor…crossing my fingers!

Long runs always made me crazy hungry for the rest of the day, and I only trained for and ran a half. I could imagine long runs and training for a full would be much crazier with making someone hungry! Really glad you got to spend time with your friends and family this weekend, that’s always fun- and your tacos look delish!

I’m feeling motivated today. Something about Mondays makes me feel good. It’s like a clean slate for a new week and I almost always feel good energy on Monday. Sometimes it’s gone by Tuesday, though. :-)

LOVE that kind of weekend. I find the ones where I get the least done on my to do list but spend the most time with people I love or doing things I really enjoy are the most refreshing and then I can go into a week with a better attitude and energy level to tackle things. I had a lot of social time and spent a lot of time in the pool/at yoga, so I feel recharged in the physical sense! I am aiming for a productive week so I hope I can prove my own theory!

This morning I am feeling a little discouraged but only a little. It’s okay, it’s only Monday….things are bound to shape up!

Have a good week sweetie!

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well :( An extra cup of coffee usually does the trick though!
Hmm..I guess I’m feeling uneasy? I spent the weekend at a social justice retreat engaging in a LOT of heavy discussions and am still processing everything.

Do you find that the compression tights really help? I still haven’t bought any but really want to try them.

I really think they do. I’ve noticed a difference. I actually found mine for WAY cheaper on Amazon bec it was a style/version being discontinued or updated or whatever. Love deals!

I feel energized this morning. It was an awesome weekend of catching up with my husband and family after a week away for work and it was SO needed. I even got some cuddle time with my niece who blew me kisses as we left the house, I could see her in the window – seriously melted my heart like nothing else.

I had a headache from Saturday morning to Sunday night last weekend and it freaked me out. It was the first time I’ve ever had a headache last that long and I was convinced there was something legit wrong with me! haha. Hope yours goes away soon. Headaches can be so debilitating.
My word is inspired. After 4 days off due to a pesky cold, I’m inspired to get back on track!

Those tacos make me want some mexican food at 1030 am. I have been craving mexican a lot lately! Maybe because i can’t eat tomatoes or spicy things because of the baby, my body is craving what it cant have! but i could improvise and do fish or crab cake tacos i think, yummm!

I get headaches sometimes after long runs, usually because I didn’t drink enough during the run. Maybe that’s it? Also, I never thought to wear my compression tights after a long run… this is genius. I just bought them to run in cold weather!

We had tornado watches and warnings last night (which I can easily sleep through, but Daniel’s fire dept radio goes off with each warning update), so I could not get to sleep until around 1 a.m. When my alarm went off at 4:50 all I wanted to do was wrap up in my blankets and sleep about three more hours. I’m going to go with “excited but a little tired” for my words today. Excited because it’s still going to be a great week!

Long run and a Blue Moon make for a great weekend! But I might join you in the extra cup of coffee. Despite my 8 hours of sleep last night, I’m dragging today. Guess my wild Saturday night is still lingering…

What an awesome weekend! I am glad you had a good one. I’ve never had Cheeky before! Must try it. Also… blue moon is one of my favorite beers! Have you tried 5 season’s version? Visla I think is what they call it. So tasty! I had one ( OK, two) last night. For my word, I’m going to say “motivated”! Even though I woke up on the tired side this morning and was feeling pretty rushed to get out of the house on time, I am ready to check everything off my list this week! It is really helping with training to have a set plan each week of exactly what I’m going to do.

I have never gone crazy over gifts for holidays like Christmas or anniversaries. For those celebrations, I prefer to just spend time with loved ones and forget about the gifts.
