Sunday Jan 29 – Turbo Jam DVD
Sunday was another cross training day for me this past week. Lately, I have loved getting up before church so I can do an at-home option and be done for the day. Kickboxing and Physique 57 have been calling my name!
Monday Jan 30 – 4 miles + Full Body Weights
I started my morning with 4 miles at 6.5 mph on the treadmill. While the treadmill isn’t my favorite, I love having one at home now to make the mornings much easier. I finished out the workouts later that afternoon when I met Peter at the gym for weights. I didn’t feel like thinking much, so I just completed my “Life’s A Bench” full body circuit again. It kicked my butt again.
Tuesday Jan 31 – 6 miles outdoors (8:30 average pace)
Things may get a little TMI right now. I planned for this run to be a steady, easy pace. The first few miles I felt great and held an 8:50-9:00 min/mile pace. Then, some bathroom issues cropped up and I wanted to get back fast. My final 3 miles were way too fast for the run (the last two both around 7:48 min miles).
Wednesday Feb 1 – 4 miles + Lower Body Weights
Another steady run on the treadmill. I kept things light after the previous afternoon’s run. I should have had speed work, but I think those sub-8 min miles counted for speed work this week. Ha!
For my weights, I made up a circuit that was quite the challenge for the booty!
I promise you that group of exercises will work your rear. As the image says, I did 25 reps of each exercise (25 reps per leg for the lunges and 25 steps per side for the walking squats). In between each circuit, I rested for a couple minutes, then went through it again for a total of 5 circuits. 25 total sets of 25 reps of butt work. Ouch!
Exercise Links:
- Sumo Deadlift (I did mine with a heavy dumbbell)
- Reverse Lunge Off Step
- Glute Bridge (but with feet on ball part of Bosu)
- Tube Walking Squats
- Side to Side Punch Lunges (around 3:13 into video demo)
Thursday Feb 2 – OFF
Friday Feb 3 – Upper Body & Core Workout
I have rearranged the days of my training schedule. Timing wise, Friday morning runs just weren’t working for me, so I focused on upper body instead. It was quick and to the point but a good challenge. I focused on strength endurance by doing super sets of chest and back, plus some core, and ending with bicep/tricep/shoulder work.

Saturday Feb 4 – 11 mile run – 1:39:04 (9:00 pace)
I actually went out with a few ladies from the running group I met up with awhile ago and it made for a great run. I knew I would love running with a crew! The time flew by!

My favorite workout this week was running outside when it was almost 60 degrees! (very unusual for OH in Jan/Feb!) I think I might incorporate your booty exercises this week.
That’s what it was like here today and it was fabulous!
I love the strength circuits you’ve been posting recently, they’ve been an excellent addition to my current workout routine! The best workout I had last week, however, was a four mile run on Saturday. It was the first time I had ran for that long and I spent the rest of the day basking in the glow of success.
My favorite workout of the week was, once again, Zumba! We did some really crazy moves, and our instructor is just hilarious.
The past few days have been awfully cold, with temps between 0 and 15°F, so I haven’t run outdoor in almost a week. Can’t wait for spring!
I tried a salsa class this week! Quite fun
I’ve been loving my 30 Day Shred workouts. I’m on level 2, and it’s challenging! I’m feeling stronger all the time, which is what I really love about it.
That workout is making my butt hurt from just looking at it!!
I love the strength workouts you have been posting! They have been so timely as I have been trying to incorporate more strength sessions into my workout times and I love circuit/pyramid work!
My best day this week was my rest day. I think my hip is better — I’m taking this weekend to just swim even though all I want to do is run. I know it’s worth it to take an extra day for safety before I go back to the physio — after a month off of running, one more day is minor.
Great work this week! I love long runs with friends…they don’t even feel like runs!
Looks like you had some awesome workouts this week!! My favorite workout was the interval one I did on the treadmill yesterday. I did the intervals sort-of tabata style and man was it challenging!
sounds super tough!
Not too proud of this week’s workouts considering I took 3 days off because of a crazy schedule but I plan to fix that later today. Thinking about adding in that butt workout but I’m afraid I won’t be able to walk tomorrow if I do!
Awesome workouts! Just did some kickboxing and maybe I’ll kick in some strength training later!
I just got home from a spin and stretch class – it was awesome!
Great workouts, Tina! You’re an inspiration.
I really need to get back into lifting…. #mustdoit
Great workouts this past week!
Wow! That is quite the workout routine of the week! You’re amazing! My workouts went well this week because I started my own new plan and was able to meet all of my goals! That butt burner work out looks so hard, I may have to start with one or two sets at first and work my way up, but I want to give it a try for sure.
Awesome workouts for the week, girl!
How did I miss that you got a treadmill? I am totally jealous!!
Wow, nice workouts this week Tina!! That 11 miler, nicely done! And for bathroom issues when running…the WORST! For me, I equate it to running with a backpack on (LOL) and it’s the worst feeling! So distracting too.
I enjoyed running outside this week, 5 miles – 55 minutes. First half was hard, but then decided to go 1 mile longer than I normally would have. Prepping for 8k next month and trying to keep it under 50 min. Did interval sprints help you with speed? I’m trying to up my speed, but trying to find it in me to PUSH!
way to go on the run! I love running with friends when I train, so much less boring!
Sounds like some awesome workouts! I had a great HIIT run this morning which really took everything out of me- so glad I didn’t give into the temptation of giving up!
oh
oh
my 42.5 year old booty needs this
my booty sure needs this.
my fav workout this weekend….lugging a few hundred pound treadmill up 3 flights of stairs alone! lol
that….is…a workout! yikes!
yep it was..but I got it upstairs, went for a run this morning!!!
pinned!! Great workout!
I had such a weird week workout wise because of travel. I enjoyed my 8 mile run because I kept a consistent pace and made training progress.
I have been doing circuits that I have been finding on Pintrest (mostly pinned from you!) and I love that I’m doing exercises I don’t normally do, or ones I didn’t know how to. I’m loving the challenge.
These exercises look awesome! My favorite workout this week was power-hour spin + yoga after. It was SO renewing in the end, if that makes sense.
I’m looking to try more strength training and circuit workouts, so I’m definitely keeping your plan pinned! Thanks!
I’m always in need of a good booty burner workout!!
Maybe I’ll get the chance to give you one at a future ATL blogger meetup. And that just sounds so bad! Haha!
Favorite workout this week was spinning with hubby in our home gym.
Your workouts look awesome.
I definitely need to do more strength training so that is what I’m on the lookout for these days.
Based on your post from last week, I’m really trying to do more planks (and plank variations) to work on my core!!! =) Great week of workouts, Tina!!!
Pinned it. I have to get a bosu for the house!
